I have a cheap, crappy, non-smart cell phone. I had it with me the other day when I happened to see a great horned owl so I took some pictures. Now I would like to get these pictures onto my computer but I don’t know how!
Everything on the net is all “How to transfer photos from your Smartphone to your computer.” But it’s not a Smartphone. I don’t see any way to plug a USB into it. Since it’s not smart, I can’t email the photos to myself, although I might be able to send them to someone who has a Smartphone who could…but that seems cumbersome.
Most phones < say 5 years old normally have micro USB. Not all, but many. If so get USB-A to micro-B for pennies to a few bucks. If not, your job is that much harder. What model?
For instance, some older Motorola phones worked with a tool called, appropriately, Motorola Phone Tool.
If your device is old enough to not use a standard micro USB connector, we’ll have to figure out what to use…if you don’t have bluetooth or a micro SD card.
One other option - the cell company stores transfer data for customers. If you can find one that’s been around for a long time, you may be able to get them to help you.
As stated by others knowing the exact make & model of the phone will help immensely, but I would say the above post is going to be the answer. Non-smart or ‘feature phones’ as they’re now called generally allowed for transfer of photos via a micro to regular USB cable. It was SOP for most all of them…
Also back then not all feature phones were setup to simply appear as a generic USB drive to a computer when plugged into them. Some required the use of their proprietor software to access its data. Still. you should be able to find any software you might need for it on the phone manufacturer’s website.
