I couldn’t find a thread about the TV show, “Transporter: The Series” on TNT. I’ve just discovered it, although IMDb lists it as a 2012 show. Anyone else watching? I think it’s pretty good.
If the name doesn’t ring a bell, it’s based on the series of Jason Statham movies about a former special ops agent who now works as an extra-legal courier for the underworld, delivering illicit packages for large fees. It’s a great formula for lots of car chases, boat chases, etc.
“Transporter: The Series” is a French-Canadian production that first premiered in Germany in 2012, then went to Canada, France and India before hitting the U.S. this year.
Going in, I felt like the show stood a decent chance at being kind of fun. And I thought Chris Vance was actually a pretty good choice as a low-rent television stand-in for Jason Statham. But I watched one episode and had no interest in watching more. Given the way TNT decided to broadcast episodes two at a time, hurriedly burning it off like it was some kind of mistake, I probably should have been suspicious about the quality.
