It’s past noon and they still haven’t arrived. I could have completed the one errand I need to run today but we all know that’s exactly when they would have come. My neighbour isn’t home and it’s snowing so I can’t ask him to leave it behind the hedge.
What kind of delivery window is 9am to 7pm anyway? Don’t they have some sort of established route that would put them in my neighbourhood at least either in the morning or in the afternoon most days? Isn’t the tracking software sophisticated enough that could give me a general idea when to expect him? The grocery store can do it. John Lewis can do it. Even the plumber can usually do it!
The joys of shopping online are certainly offset by the aggravation of being shackled to your home the entire day. hmpf.
I got a notice from FedEx that they tried to deliver something yesterday. They put the time on the door slip, which gives me some indication (I hope) about what time they’ll be here today.
If their depot is close by, it might be more convenient to pick it up at UPS vs. having them deliver it. I’ve done that lots of times.
You are right! Turns out the nearest depot is not so far from here. Usually they’re in some industrial park in the hind end of nowhere but this one is not so bad. Looks like I might get something done after all/
Now, if you can tell me where to find a chocolate brown men’s dress shirt in Central London, my day will be complete!
I’m waiting for FedEx today but the good news is I work from home so it’s no big deal.
The original projected delivery date was Nov 27, and I was going to be out all day. The place where I bought my stuff from (Hewlett-Packard) actually had an option for me to “pre-sign” for my item and tape a signed form on my front door to serve as the signature.
I printed the form and signed it, but then the delivery date got moved to today. I hope that my clicking through and accepting of the terms to get the form doesn’t flag my shipment, so that the delivery person doesn’t even knock on the door.
