travelling by RV in canada; internet access?

Hi

I’m going on a “holiday” in Canada soon, and we’re hire on of those bus-type RV things (beds, kitchenette, shower, etc). Unfortunately, I need to check my email (and other stuff) every two days or so for work. I need to actually connect to the net with my lappy, not use a machine in a net cafe, due to certificates and so on.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

dial up access. This probably applies to many major campgrounds (does KOA have outlets in Canada, and if so do they call it KOC?) . Any place with a phone outlet should work. In a pinch if you had AOL they always have long distance access numbers. Another option might be satellite uplink, if money is not real tight.

In Europe you can access the web via a GPRS enabled mobile phone. You will need a GPRS handset and a data contract with your provider (that enables roaming to Canada). I think that I got ~28.8kbps - good enough for email/basic browsing.

Finally, why dont you look into getting a Blackberry or PDA with a GPRS modem - might be better for travelling?
