Treating ear mites in cats

I recently got a new kitten whose former owner let her out. Unfortunately, that kitten took a liking to an older cat and started sharing the older cat’s sleeping spots. Today, I saw some black crumb in the older cat’s ears and some in the kitten’s.

I’ve done some research and will be getting a vet’s advice tomorrow. I’d also to ask here for any advice on treatment and preventing further infections. I have two other cats who seem unaffected.
I’ll provide pics as reward for advice.

Revolution … treats fleas, ear mites and round worms I believe … ask your vet, you’ll need a 'script for it if you live in the USA …

Another vote for Revolution. We’ve used it for years.

Thanks for the info. As promised, here are some pics:

How do I handle their sleeping spots, several of which are made of cloth? How about their toys?

If all cats (and dogs) in the house are treated with Revolution, the house will quickly become flea-free. You don’t have to worry about sleeping spots or toys.

Same for ear mites.

FYI, in my experience fleas on the animal will be gone within about 15 minutes of applying Revolution.

Mites and fleas can’t survive for a few days off the animal after hatching?

In addition to killing adult fleas, Revolution prevents flea larvae from hatching.

Just to be safe, I’d wash all their sleeping mats, etc. in hot water with detergent. They need that occasionally, anyway.

And she looks nice, all dressed up in her tuxedo coat.

Good looking cat, you got there. Congrats on your new overlord!

theres also ear drops just for ear mites that worked for us we used hartz… …supposedly were too dry for fleas
