In the past few weeks, there has been a dramatic increase in posts expressing anti-religious and pro-atheist points of view. Atheism and condemnation of religion have always been popular subjects on the SDMB, but for some reason it just seems like people are talking about it a lot more lately.
A few months ago, there was no shortage of posts and threads about rape on the SDMB.
What other topics have had what seems like inexplicable waves of popularity on the SDMB? Let’s exclude topics that arose thanks to a single troll (e.g. circumcision), or events in the news. Was there a time when … oh, it seemed like everybody was talking about cat declawing for a month straight?
