Oh, I’m so pissed. This one Hairdresser had the temerity to actually trim my fairly moderate and virgin eyebrows with a Vibro-trimmer. They didn’t need it at all. I mean, she started in without even asking… what am I supposed to do…yell, "Stop!"They have returned with a vengeance, they are twice as bushy as before and I have to pluck “super long” brow lashes now.
That’s why I will never shave my extremeties… it would be just like opening pandora’s box.
Yes, if you have bushy brows that you don’t want to accentuate, this is a normal request. I started getting wild brow hairs in my early 30’s. Sometimes, I’ll trim them myself with scissors at home or sometimes, I’ll let my barber do it. There’s usually no shaping involved, just trimming the extra long brow hairs.
To your barber, as they are finishing cutting your hair: “Can you trim my eyebrows?” I have never been charged extra for this service. It only takes about 2 seconds on each brow. And any barber that’s cut hair for longer than a month, should know what to do.
I’m not a hairy guy, but I’ve had to trim my eyebrows since high school. I used to pluck them, but started seeing gaps, so now I simply use the closest setting on my beard trimmer. If I don’t, they can get freaky long, like that old guy from the movie, Dune.
I’ve asked the barber/stylist to trim them before, and its not been awkward, but I still prefer to do most of my man-grooming, myself.
I’m 36, and the scariest part of growing older is finding the hair growing on my ears–not IN my ears, but ON, along the outer edges.
My husband uses the same hairdresser (female) that I do, and she always trims his brows. He has two, but they’re pretty thick & get long. No shaping or anything, she just sets the beard trimmer on a high setting and does a quick buzz over them. He does it at home sometimes since his brows grow faster than his hair.
