In Dutch, which is phonetic, a word spelled “orange” would be pronounces with the Hard-G, which is why William of Orange’s name spelled in Dutch is “Willem van Oranje”, as is the Dutch word for the color orange. It’s pronounced “o-ran-yeh”.
