Since the establishment of the Commonwealth of Australia on 1 January 1901 there has been only one joint sitting of Parliament: on 6 and 7 August 1974.
Canada does not have a mechanism for a joint sitting of Parliament. If the Senate rejects a bill, there is no mechanism for the Commons to override the Senate. However, it is rare for the Senate to reject a major bill from the Commons. The last time it did reject a bill was a bill to criminalise abortion. The Senate rejected the bill on a tie vote, meaning Canada does not have any criminal law relating to abortion.

His early death sent shockwaves throughout Europe, as he was the last serious dynastic hope for the restoration of the Bonapartes to the throne of France.
The first major encounter of the Anglo-Zulu war was the Battle of Isandlwana on 22 January 1879. It was a disaster for the British, with the Zulus winning a decisive victory.

The NFL discourages teams from retiring jersey numbers for fear of teams running out of numbers. Four teams have explicit no-retirement policies: the Oakland Raiders, Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins. In the case of the Raiders, only Hall of Fame center Jim Otto’s number, 00, has not been reissued, and in Otto’s case only because the league forced the Raiders to stop issuing the number; the NFL banned the numbers 0 and 00 under the new numbering system of 1973.
