Science fiction author Theodore Sturgeon was once told by someone who disliked the genre that “90% of science fiction was crap.” His reply is now called “Sturgeon’s Law”: “90% of everything is crap*.”
*The phrase has several variations on the final word, depending on the sensibilities of the speaker and the audience.
Pareto’s Law (the 80-20 Rule): 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes; e.g. 80% of the sales come from 20% of the customers
Andrew Bonar Law was the British Prime Minister from 23 October 1922 until 22 May 1923. He was the shortest serving Prime Minister of the 20th century and is often referred to as “the unknown Prime Minister”.
He was born in the colony of New Brunswick. He is the only British Prime Minister to have been born outside the British Isles.
In the 1985 provincial election, the New Brunswick Liberal Party won every seat in the provincial Assembly, one of the most dominant electoral results in Commonwealth and Canadian history.

1987?
How did the Opposition perform its role without a voice in the chamber?
On the 3rd of January, 1987, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted its first female member: Aretha Franklin.
The Lady Franklin Museum is a classical temple in Tasmania built in 1842 by Lady Franklin, wife of Sir John Franklin, Lieutenant-Governor of Van Diemen’s Land. She built the temple as a museum, and left 400 acres in trust to ensure the continuance of what she hoped would become the focus of the colony’s cultural aspirations. A century of apathy followed, with the museum used as an apple shed among other functions; but in 1949 it was made the home of the Art Society of Tasmania, which rescued the building.
Aretha Franklin, born in 1942, began singing Gospel music as a child in her father’s Baptist Church. She is listed in at least two all-time lists on Rolling Stone magazine, including the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time (she is number 9), and the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time (she is number 1).
“Northwest Passage” is an iconic song about the Canadian north, written and sung by the late, lamented Stan Rogers. One of the lines is “To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea”, a reference to the lost Franklin expedition, searching for the Northwest Passage that would lead to the Beaufort Sea. The song has been referred to as an unofficial national anthem for Canada.

Oops! yes, 1987. Fat-fingering on an iPhone.
With great difficulty!
My recollection is that the main Opposition party, the Progressive Conservatives, would have someone sit in the galleries during debates, and then the leader of the party would give interviews to media, commenting on the issues. Howver, since they did not have any seats, I beleieve that meant they did not get any of the usual public funding for research and staffers, nor any office space in the Lege.
Premier McKenna did designate some members of his own party to act as “critics” for the Ministers, but I imagine the questions in Question Period were pretty softball for four years…
**North by Northwest, **one of Hitchcocks finest films saw its production delayed so that Hitchcock could avoid casting James Stewart in the title role. Hitch did not want to refuse Jimmy Stewart (a frequent collaberator who expected to be cast) outright so he created a scheduling conflict so that Jimmy Stewart was committed to another film at the time.
James Stewart was cast as Charles Lindbergh in Spirit of St. Louis despite being much too old for the role, simply due to his insistence stemming from his admiration of Lindy. The role had originally been given to John Kerr, best known as Joe Cable in the film South Pacific.
Jimmy Stewart’s last role for Hitchcock was as a troubled former cop in Vertigo. The film did not do especially well at the time, and Hitchcock said privately that he had come to the conclusion that Stewart was just too old for the part.
Although in the next film (where as stated above he pulled off several tricks to ensure Stewart would not be cast), North by Northwest, he cast the even older Cary Grant.
Jimmy Stewart was born in the town of Indiana, in the county of Indiana, in the state of Pennsylvania. Indiana, Pennsylvania is the location of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Jimmy Stewart when appearing in the TV Series, The World At War insisted on being captioned as merely “James Stewart, Squadron Commander”
(lets see how long we can keep the Jimmy Stewart Trivia going and fresh).
When Stewart Granger came to Hollywood he realized he was going to have to change his name for the movies, because there already was a James Stewart active.
Formula 1 racing’s Red Bull Racing team was founded by legendary driver Sir Jackie Stewart as Stewart Grand Prix, complete with the official Stewart Racing tartan. Stewart sold the team to Ford, which renamed it and ran it as Jaguar Racing before selling it to Red Bull.
