In 285 A.D., before Christianity became the official religion of the Roman Empire, emperors Diocletian and Maximilian passed strict anti-polygamy laws that mandated monogamy as the only form of legal marital relationship.
Austrian/Swiss actor Maximillian Schell, whose fluency in both English and German gave him a film career in Nazi-era-set films, won an Oscar for only his second Hollywood film, Judgment at Nuremberg. He was later nominated for The Man in the Glass Booth and Julia.
Maximillian Schell also played a mad scientist in the first Disney sf flop, 1979’s* The Black Hole*. Roddy McDowall and Slim Pickens were both unbilled in providing voices for two robot characters.
In 1974, the FBI raided the home of Roddy McDowall and seized his collection of films and television series in the course of an investigation of film piracy and copyright infringement. His collection consisted of 160 16 mm prints and more than 1,000 video cassettes, at a time before the era of commercial videotapes, when there was no legal aftermarket for films.
Roddy “Rowdy” Piper was a WWE wrestler from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. His in-ring persona played up his Scottish ancestry, including entrances wearing a kilt and playing the pipes.
Stamford, CT-based WWE, formerly World Wrestling Entertainment, was previously named WWF, World Wrestling Federation, before losing a suit to the World Wildlife Federation, which was using the acronym already. Co-owner Linda McMahon lost her campaign to succeed Joe Lieberman in the Senate to Richard Blumenthal in 2002.
In 2014, the Supreme Court of Canada held that the Senate of Canada can only be abolished by unanimous consent of all ten provinces and the House of Commons.
Canadian Supreme Court justices could work as Santa Clauses in their same outfits, simply by adding a red hat and, for some, a fake beard. They would not even have to remove their judicial wigs, as that custom was abolished over a century ago.
Although contemporary American judges (and many magistrates) typically wear plain black robes, judges in the early republic had somewhat more colorful garb, as John Jay did when serving as the first Chief Justice of the United States: John Jay - Wikipedia
For much of his term as Chief Justice of the United States, William Rehnquist wore stripes on the sleeves of his robe, copied from a costume he saw in a production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado. John Roberts wears the same robe as the associate Justices, like the rest of his predecessors.

Jean Stapleton declined the opportunity to play Jessica Fletcher in the television mystery program Murder, She Wrote. The role made Angela Lansbury a star.
(I’m pretty sure Angela Lansbury already qualified as a star). “Murder, She Wrote” was set in the fictional Maine town of Cabot Cove. Other fictional Maine towns on TV series include Crabapple Cove from “MASH” and Collinsport from “Dark Shadows”.
Italian explorer and navigator Giovanni Caboto (John Cabot) was, in 1497, likely the first European to land on mainland North America since the 11th century Vikings landed in the present-day Newfoundland area. In St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, stands the commemorative Cabot Tower. Construction began in 1898 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Cabot’s discovery of Newfoundland.
St. Johns Arizona was the scene of a horrific murder where an 8 year old shot his dad and his dad’s friend.
In that murder, each victim was shot at least four times with a single-action .22 caliber rifle. The rifle required ejecting the empty shell and loading a new cartridge for each shot. The father, Vincent Romero, was 29. He was an avid hunter and reportedly taught the boy how to shoot prairie dogs. The other victim was Timothy Romans, aged 39 at the time.
Paul’s Epistle to the Romans contains his most thorough theological analysis.
In the Epistle to the Ephesians, chapter 2, verse 8, it says that we are saved by grace as a gift from God, and not by anything we do.

The British form of address for either a duke or archbishop is “Your Grace.” It was also, before Henry VIII, the style for the King of England, but has been “Your Majesty” for English and now British monarchs since then.
