Don Rickles, the insult comedian whose catchphrase is calling people hockey pucks, entered show business hoping to be a dramatic actor and only began doing standup when he could not get enough acting jobs to support himself. His most notable dramatic acting role to date is as the manager of the titular CASINO in Scorcese’s film.

Rickles starred alongside Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas, and Donald Sutherland in the 1970 World War II comedy/drame Kelly’s Heroes delaing with a group of American GI’s in France attempting to steal 14,000 bars of Gold from the Germans. He played ‘Crapgame’, a supply sergeant who helped back Kelly’s plan to get to the gold first.

Over the course of a long career, Donald Sutherland has played (among other things) a grieving father, a pod person, a college professor, head of a secret government agency, a ruthless dictator, an Army doctor, a German assassin, an Irish mercenary and an English farmer. The movies? Don’t Look Now, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Animal House, The Puppet Masters, The Hunger Games, MASH, Eye of the Needle, The Eagle Has Landed* and Pride & Prejudice.

The Donald Sutherland comedy Heaven Help Us, about a Catholic high school in 1960’s Brooklyn, was also the film debut of Yeardley Smith, better known as the voice of Lisa Simpson.

Brooklyn was originally its own separate city. It was not until the turn of the nineteenth century that Brooklyn merged with the City of New York. Many Brooklyn residents called the move “the Great Mistake of 1898.”

Brooklyn has approximately 2.6 million residents, which means if it were to be separated from the rest of New York City, Brooklyn would become the 4th most populous U.S. city behind the rest of NYC, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

In 1898, the Parliament of Canada created Yukon Territory by carving off the most north-westerly portion of the North-West Territories and creating a new territory.

The reason was the Klondike Gold Rush. The federal government thought that a local government with a capital in Whitehorse, Yukon, could respond more quickly to the issues posed by the gold rush than the territorial government of the North-West Territories in the distant capital of Regina, NWT.
