The Miami Heat are not related to the Miami Floridians, an ABA team in the early 1970s. The Heat have occasionally paid tribute to the older franchise by wearing a replica version of the Floridians’ uniforms for the NBA’s “Hardwood Classics Nights” during the 2005–06 and 2011–12 seasons. The Miami Floridians were originally the Minnesota Muskies, one of the 11 charter ABA franchises in 1967.
Muskie is short for Muskellunge, the largest member of the pike family of fishes, which occur in the USA only in the glacial lakes of northern Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. They are widely prized as a trophy fish, typically measuring over 40 inches in length, and must be 30 inches to be legally kept. The record muskie weighed 67 pounds. The French name is Maskinongé, for which a Quebec municipality is named.
The push of pike was a particular feature of late medieval and Early Modern warfare that occurred when two opposing columns of pikemen collided and became locked in position along a front of interleaved pikes. The push of pike would continue until one of the opposing formations collapsed, which would generally lead to massive casualties.
During push of pike, opposing blocks of pikemen would advance with their pikes “charged” horizontally at shoulder level to jab at one another until bodily contact was made. The two sides would then push physically until one or other of them gave way. Each man pressed on the one in front, and so the action would have likely become a combination of hand to hand and push.
The horizontal is a straight line only in theory, since the actual horizon is a slightly curved line from the point of view of the observer.

Ponsonby Britt was the credited—but fictional—executive producer of The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. His name always appeared as the final credit, then exploded.
In 1959, Jay Ward and Bill Scott invented the name “Ponsonby Britt, Limited” as the new title of their corporation. Britt eventually supposedly became an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) and was retained in the cartoon’s closing credits as an in-joke.
The Twilight Zone episode “It’s A Good Life” is considered one of the best ever aired. It starred Billy Mumy as a six year boy with psychokinetic powers. In the 2002 revival series, a sequel to this episode was broadcast, entitled “It’s Still a Good Life”. In the episode, Anthony is a middle-aged man who now has a daughter Audrey who has inherited his powers. From the etymology of the word twilight it is unclear as to the exact connotation of twi- in the word. It does not seem to refer to the fact that twilight happens twice per day, but it is more likely to mean “half” light, since its definition is the visible sunlight in the sky when the sun is below the horizon. Twilight occurs before sunrise, and after sunset.
Sunset Towns arose in segregationist America, in which all non-white persons were legally required to leave the town after dark. A 1917 supreme court ruling ended the legitimacy of sunset towns, but a few probably still exist with de facto sunset enforcement.

Fossil hunter Barnum Brown discovered the first partial skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex in the Montana portion of the Hell Creek Formation in 1902. He later sold this specimen to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh. Another T. A near-complete T Rex fossil was discovered in south-western Saskatchewan in 1992. The palentologists who did the dig confirming it was a TRex nicknamed him “Scotty”, from the bottle of Scotch they killed that night in celebration.

Govenlock, Saskatchewan boomed mostly because of Prohibition, where Montana residents would visit the town .load up with booze, and then sell it in the US at a large profit. After Prohibition ended, the village dwindled to near nothing, and by 2006 Govenlock had a population of 0 living in 0 dwellings, a 0% increase from 2001.
