Trivia Dominoes: Play Off the Last Bit of Trivia

According to the (Baker-)Stark–Heegner theorem there are precisely nine Heegner numbers:

1, 2, 3, 7, 11, 19, 43, 67, 163.

In number theory, a Heegner number (as termed by Conway and Guy) is a square-free positive integer d such that the imaginary quadratic field Q(√−d) has class number 1.

The Heegner numbers 1, 2, 3, 7, 11, 19, 43, 67, and 163 are square-free. They cannot be divided by a perfect square other than 1. For example, 10 is square-free, but 18 (= 9x2 = 3² x2) is not.

In Mexico, the number “cuarenta y uno” (41) is slang referring to a homosexual. This is due to the 1901 arrest of 41 homosexuals at a hotel in Mexico City.

Such was the impact of the affair that the number 41 became taboo, as described by the essayist Francisco L. Urquizo in 1965:

On December 9, 2015, Sean Taro Ono Lennon became older than his father ever was, and on October 9, 2016, he will turn 41.

Characters played by Sean Bean died in Patriot Games, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and Game of Thrones.

L.L.Bean, is a privately held e-commerce, mail-order, and retail company founded in 1912 by Leon Leonwood Bean. It specializes in clothing and outdoor recreation equipment. Its annual sales were USD $1.56 billion in 2013. The company began as a one-room operation selling a single product, the Maine Hunting Shoe.

The Maine Coon Cat is the largest domesticated breed of cat, having a distinctive physical appearance and valuable hunting skills. It is one of the oldest natural breeds in North America, specifically “native” to the state of Maine (though the feline was simply introduced there),where it is the official state cat.

The Maine Coon bears a strong resemblance to the Norwegian Forest Cat

Paul McCartney explained the term “Norwegian Wood” was a sarcastic reference to the cheap pine wall panelling then in vogue (e.g. in guitarist Peter Asher’s bedroom). McCartney commented on the final verse of the song: “In our world the guy had to have some sort of revenge. It could have meant I lit a fire to keep myself warm, and wasn’t the decor of her house wonderful? But it didn’t, it meant I burned the fucking place down as an act of revenge, and then we left it there and went into the instrumental.”

In 1999, on what would have been Buddy Holly’s 40th birthday, his life and music were the subject of a week-long tribute organized by Paul McCartney. “Buddy Holly Week” has since become an annual affair.

English holly, sometimes called European holly, is a species of holly native to western and southern Europe, northwest Africa, and southwest Asia. It is slow growing and it does not usually fully mature due to grazing, cutting, or fire. It can live 500 years, but usually does not reach 100.

In the 1880s, Birdsill Holly thought that someday Niagara Falls would become a tourist attraction, so proposed the idea of constructing a 700-foot structure near the falls for viewing. This, however, did not transpire because he could not get enough investors for such an expensive, highly speculative, project. A decade later, the first buildings that tall were built in New York City, influenced by Holly’s architectural dream.

The first group of inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, inducted on January 23, 1986, included Elvis Presley, James Brown, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry, Sam Cooke, the Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, and Jerry Lee Lewis.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is in a striking I.M.Pei-designed building on the lakefront in Cleveland, Ohio, although inductions are typically held in New York City, a fact which has, over the years, caused no little irritation in Cleveland.

Various magazines and news outlets, such as Time, NPR radio, The Christian Science Monitor, Goldmine magazine, Yahoo Music and MSNBC, have argued that the Monkees belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Hall of Fame pitcher Satchel Paige holds a major league record not associated with his pitching. He played in 179 major league games without ever making a fielding error, the longest career at any defensive position of any fielder with a 1.000 fielding average. Paige’s entire major league career came after the age of 41.

Satchel Pooch is Rob’s overweight, naïve, and easily amused dog in the comic strip Get Fuzzy. It is suggested by Rob’s friend Joe Doman, that he is named after the Baseball Hall of Fame player Satchel Paige.

After November 2013, the daily Get Fuzzy strips have consisted entirely of strips from previous years, according to the current version of Wikipedia.

By November 2013, the San Francisco Giants were no longer World Series Champions since winning in 2012. The Boston Red Sox won the 2013 World Series to become the MLB champions.
