Trivia Dominoes: Play Off the Last Bit of Trivia

Aaron married Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon of the tribe of Judah. The sons of Aaron were Eleazar, Ithamar, and Nadab and Abihu. A descendant of Aaron is an Aaronite, or Kohen, meaning Priest. Any non-Aaronic Levite—i.e., descended from Levi but not from Aaron—assisted the Levitical priests of the family of Aaron in the care of the tabernacle; later of the temple.

The Twelve Tribes of Israel (Jacob), found in Genesis 46:8-25, are Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun (and his only named daughter Dinah, from mother Leah), Gad and Asher (from mother Zilpah), Joseph and Benjamin (from mother Rachel), and Dan and Naphtali (from mother Bilhah).

I call Ninja!

Not in play: Un-ninja’d with the addition of the last line, but I forgot to include elephants, very important in “Willoughby Wallaby Woo,” as in
“Willoughby Wallaby Woe, an elephant sat on Joe, Willoughby Wallaby Wullitt, an elephant sat on Bullitt”

By the way I’ve eaten bear meat which is not especially pacifying when it comes to flavor–like a greasy gamy beef. I wonder how valuable it was in trading.

Carry on.

Good one. It is a little challenging, typing this with an elephant sitting on my shoulders.

Raffi’s songs include Baby Beluga and Joshua Giraffe. In February 2016, Raffi released the song Wave of Democracy in support of Senator Bernie Sanders’ run for the leadership of the Democratic Party and the Presidency.

Comment: Baby Beluga and Joshua Giraffe were two of our favorite songs. My son’s name is Joshua.

The Airbus A300-600ST (Super Transporter) or Beluga, is a version of the standard A300-600 wide-body airliner modified to carry aircraft parts and oversized cargo. On January 20, 451 CE, General Flavius Aetius, with the help of Roman foederati, defeated Attila the Hun in the Battle of the Catalaunian Plains and halted the invasion of Gaul by the Huns and their allies. Aetius was an able military commander and the most influential man in the Western Roman Empire for two decades (433-454). Edward Gibbon refers to him as “the man universally celebrated as the terror of Barbarians and the support of the Republic.” Attila subsequently invaded Italy, devastating the northern provinces, but was unable to take Rome. He planned for further campaigns against the Romans but died in 453. The term “foederati” was used under the Roman Empire to refer to groups of “barbarian” mercenaries, who were typically allowed to settle within the Empire.

Attila is a common given name in Hungary; some counts place it in the top 20 men’s names. Several Hungarian Olympians have had this name including figure skater Attila Tóth and swimmer Attila Czene.
