When Stephen Foster was 20 years old he moved to Cincinatti OH. That is where he wrote his first successful songs, including Oh Susanna. By 24 he moved back to Pennsylvania where he wrote his most of his best known songs, including Camptown Races, My Old Kentucky Home, and Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair. Foster died at the young age of 37, in New York City.
“Susanna” is one of the most ancient names in relatively common usage. It traces back to the Greeks, who got it from the Jews, who are believed to have borrowed it from the Egyptians, from the ancient Egyptian word “sšn” meaning “lotus”.
Trypophobia is a proposed phobia of irregular patterns or clusters of small holes or bumps. The word is from the Greek: τρύπα, trýpa, meaning “hole” and φόβος, phóbos, meaning “fear”. The holes in lotus seed heads have been claimed to cause anxiety in some people

King George V is the first British monarch to be photographed wearing Royal Air Force (RAF) uniform; his son George VI also wore it from time to time. Queen Elizabeth II has not, to my knowledge, ever worn it, although when younger she sometimes wore British Army uniform on state occasions.
On December 30, 1999, George Harrison was attacked at his home, Friar Park by 36-year-old Michael Abram, who broke in and stabbed him over 40 times with a kitchen knife, puncturing a lung and causing head injuries before Olivia Harrison incapacitated the assailant by striking him repeatedly with a fireplace poker and a lamp.
Wow, crazy, I’d forgotten about that, Annie.
The song Michelle was inspired by Paul McCartney’s favorite technique for picking up girls at parties. Paul McCartney and George Harrison, self-described “working-class boys,” often felt at odds at the boho-chic parties they went to as teens with John Lennon (who was older and attending art college). To try and get the girls, McCartney tried dressing in black and sitting in a corner with his guitar, and singing in made-up French to see if he could draw over any of the Juliette Greco-type women. It never worked, but one day Lennon suggested that McCartney make “that French thing” into a song.
McCartney did not speak French so he asked a French teacher for help in coming up with a French name and a phrase that rhymed with it. The teacher came up with “Michelle, ma belle”, and a few days later McCartney asked for a translation of “these are words that go together well” — sont des mots qui vont truss bien ensemble.
While ABBA recorded many songs in Swedish, and some in German, the only song they recorded in French was (quelle surprise) Waterloo

Saab built jet aircraft as well as cars. The Saab 37 Viggen (“Thunderbolt” or also, oddly enough, “Tufted duck”) was a Swedish single-seat, single-engine warplane in service from 1971-2005. It holds the distinction of being the first canard design to be produced in quantity.
The most common duck meat consumed in the United States is the Pekin duck. Because most commercially raised Pekins used to come from Long Island, New York, Pekins are also sometimes called “Long Island” ducks, despite being of Chinese origin. The importance of duck farming in Long Island is commemorated in the Big Duck, a white duck-shaped building that measures 18 feet (5.5 m) wide, 30 feet (9.1 m) long and 20 feet (6.1 m) tall to the top of the head. The duck’s eyes are made from Ford Model T tail lights and the interior floor space is confined to 11 feet (3.4 m) by 15 feet (4.6 m). It was originally a store when it was built in the 1930s and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
The new Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys connects Knight’s Key in the Middle Keys to Little Duck Key in the Lower Keys. The bridge bypasses Pigeon Key. In order to drive to Pigeon Key you would need to drive on the old Seven Mile Bridge. A 2-mile section of the old bridge remains open for that purpose.
The older bridge was originally known as the Knights Key-Pigeon Key-Moser Channel-Pacet Channel Bridge and was constructed in 1912. The new (current) bridge was constructed from 1978 to 1982.
