The salmon ladder has been a staple in both American Ninja Warrior and Ninja Warrior since it’s debut in Sasuke 19. The obstacle requires a series of pull-ups with enough vertical velocity to permit lifting the bar to the next notch, and the next. Competitor Mike Bernardo demonstrates.
Malia Rodriguez. portrayed by Kathryn Bernardo, is the New Chosen One who defeats the evil vampire marked with the cursed ink, in the 186-episode Philippino TV series “La Luna Sangre”.

Not in play: the spelling is “Filipino”, not “Philippino”
In play:
Andy Williams sang “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” at friend Robert F. Kennedy’s funeral. Also, when Kennedy’s body was prepped for the trip to New York, but missing a necktie, Williams (who had been with Kennedy in California when he was shot) offered his own. Thus Bobby Kennedy was buried with Andy Williams’ necktie.
(Not in play: It’s actually Pilipina, as speakers of he language cannot hear the difference between P and F, and she, of course, is Pilipina, being a female actress. But sometimes, in casual usage, it is best not complicate matters for Americans. Filipino is the usual English form for naming the language, (which is actually Tagalog) but that form does not need to be used for other adjectives or nouns. Bottom line is, no matter how you spell it, someone will object.)

This is correct. Thank you, gkster.
This is somewhat correct. Filipino is the correct English spelling.
>> speakers of he language cannot hear the difference between P and F
We hear just fine, thank you, but many native Filipino speakers cannot naturally speak the F sound. It will be a “P” sound, or sometimes a “B” sound. Instead of Friday you will hear many say “Pry-day”.
Reminds me of this joke:
Filipinos will sometimes write the word as Pilipino — there was no F in the Filipino alphabet until recently. See Filipinos - Wikipedia.
Signed,

Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated on 05 June 1968 at the Ambassador Hotel, 3400 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles CA. The portion of Wilshire Boulevard in front of the old hotel site has been signed the “Robert F. Kennedy Parkway” — the hotel closed in 1989 and was demolished in 2005-2006.
Today at 3400 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles CA, a complex of public schools is located there. It is named the Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools.
Ethel Kennedy was three months pregnant when Robert was assassinated, and gave birth to their daughter Rory on December 12, 1968. Following her husband’s assassination, she publicly stated that she would never marry again. For a time, she was escorted to dinners, parties and the theater by singer and family friend Andy Williams. She continued to live at the family home, Hickory Hill, in McLean, Virginia, until December 2009, when it was sold for $8.25 million.
The 1998 film Shakespeare in Love, written by Marc Norman and playwright Tom Stoppard, tells the tale of the young Bard of Avon and his struggles to overcome writer’s block in producing his new comedy, Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate’s Daughter. Dame Judi Dench won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Queen Elizabeth I.
The Rolls-Royce Avon was the first axial flow jet engine designed and produced by Rolls-Royce. Introduced in 1950, it went on to become one of their most successful post-World War II engine designs. An plane powered by two Avons made the first un-refuelled non-stop transatlantic flight by a jet, and a De Havilland Comet 4 powered by four Avons made the first scheduled transatlantic crossing by a jet airliner.
Avon Products, Inc, known as Avon, was founded by David H. McConnell in 1886. It is a direct selling company in beauty, household, and personal care categories. It was originally called the ‘California Perfume Company’; the name was changed to Avon in 1932. The company primarily door-to-door salespeople (‘Avon Ladies’) to promote and market its products. It is the second largest direct selling enterprise in the world, after Amway.
The first east-to-west trans-Atlantic flight was made in a De Havilland Gull that was specially built for Beryl Markham in 1936. It had specially fitted fuel tanks to get her across the pond. She ended up crash landing the aircraft in Breton when the engine failed. She was injured, but survived the incident.
Of Markham’s autobiography, West with the Night, Ernest Hemingway commented “she has written so well, and marvelously well, that I was completely ashamed of myself as a writer. I felt that I was simply a carpenter with words, picking up whatever was furnished on the job and nailing them together and sometimes making an okay pig pen. But [she] can write rings around all of us who consider ourselves as writers … it really is a bloody wonderful book.”
He was right.
Oddly, Markham failed to mention her husband or son or any of her lovers in the book, among whom was Prince Henry, son of King George V, who put her on the royal pay list as a way to buy her silence.
:: off topic:: The book is marvelous. I should note that the Gull was actually made by Percival Aircraft, but the engine was a De Havilland Gipsy. De Havilland did the fuel tank modifications.

Ernest Hemingway visited Los Angeles, California in July 1937 to screen the documentary “Tierra de España,” or “The Spanish Earth” to support the Loyalist cause in the Spanish Civil War.
King George V of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland loved stamp collecting and shooting wild game. He died in 1936; the first of the King George V class of battleships in the Royal Navy was named after him just three years later. Two of his sons and then his granddaughter became monarchs after him.
ETA: He did not live to see the year 1937.
The German battleship Bismarck was destroyed by heavy gunfire from the battleships HMS King George V and HMS Rodney, but not until after she had sunk HMS Hood and HMS Prince of Wales. The ship had been mostly immobilized by a torpedo hit on her rudders from a Fairey Swordfish (called “Stringbag”, since it was a fabric covered biplane) torpedo bomber from the carrier HMS Ark Royal, after being spotted by Catalina flying boats based in Ireland. The abandoned hulk was finally sunk by torpedoes from the cruiser HMS Dorsetshire.
Bismarck North Dakota was named by people who thought buttering up the Germans would shake loose some investment money from the then-blossoming German economy. While no investments were forthcoming, Bismarck himself sent the city a personally signed note of acknowledgement.
