Antonio Vivaldi is currently one of the best-known composers of the Baroque period, but after his death in 1715 his published concerti fell out of style and were largely ignored. Even his most famous work, the Four Seasons, was unknown in its original edition during the Classical and Romantic periods and was not re-popularized until the early 1900s. His choral works, including his Glorias, remained almost unknown, until their revival by Alfredo Casella during “Vivaldi Week” in Siena in 1939. There are currently more than a hundred recordings of his Gloria in D and several hundred of his Four Seasons.
Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio renamed their band from The Four Lovers to The Four Seasons, after a Union Township, NJ, bowling alley and lounge that had rejected them at an audition.
While Mamma Mia opened the door to a number of jukebox musicals, the only one to win the Tony Award for Best Musical was Jersey Boys, based on the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

Dole Food Company, Inc. is the largest producer of fruit and vegetables in the world, responsible for over 300 products in 90 countries. It was founded in 1901 by James Dole, who opened his first pineapple plantation in the central plateau of the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Sanford Dole, the cousin of James, had been president of the Republic of Hawaii from 1894 after taking a major role in the overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaii.
Sanford Dole’s coup overthrew Queen Liliuokalani, the last monarch of Hawaii and the composer of “Aloha Oe (Farewell to Thee)”. The 1893 coup involved most of the same people as the 1887 Bayonet Constitution, consolidating control among the racial and economic elite.

Lords of Appeal in Ordinary, commonly known as Law Lords, were judges appointed under the Appellate Jurisdiction Act 1876 to the British House of Lords in order to exercise its judicial functions, which included acting as the highest court of appeal for most domestic matters. The House of Lords lost its judicial functions upon the establishment of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom in October 2009; Lords of Appeal in Ordinary then in office automatically became Justices of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, and those Supreme Court justices that have seats in the House of Lords lost their right to speak and vote there until their retirement as justices of the new court.
The Royal Navy preserves the United Kingdom’s nuclear deterrent with four missile-bearing submarines of the Vanguard class. The class is expected to be replaced by 2028 by four submarines of the* Dreadnought* class.
HMS Dreadnought was commissioned in 1906 and revolutionized battleship construction all over the world, but her only significant action was the ramming and sinking of German submarine SM U-29, becoming the only battleship confirmed to have sunk a submarine. She was sold for scrap in 1921.
In 1921, the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council (the Law Lords without their wigs) decided the Canadian Constitutional case, *In re Board of Commerce *, striking down a federal statute on the basis it was ultra vires federal jurisdiction. The decision gave an extremely narrow reading to the federal power over “Trade and Commerce”, marking a sharp difference from the ever-expanding “commerce power” of the US Congress.

Privy digging is a form of historical digging and is often conducted on private residential properties.
Her Majesty’s Privy Council for Canada is the name of the formal advisory body to the Queen and her representative, the Governor General. All Ministers of the Crown are sworn of the Privy Council for life.
In actuality, only the current Cabinet ministers sit and exercise the duties of the Privy Council. They are formally referred to as the Governor-in-Council, although the Governor never actually sits at Cabinet meetings. There is a Cabinet position called the President of the Privy Council, but actually, it is the Prime Minister who presides over Cabinet meetings. The Prime Minister is the head of government, but there is no constitutional provision which defines the office or duties of the Prime Minister.
The Friends and Descendants of Johnson’s Island, a nonprofit archeological and historical group, typically excavates a privy or two on the site of the former Confederate officers’ prisoner-of-war camp on Johnson’s Island, near Sandusky, Ohio, every summer. Privies were used as garbage dumps during the Civil War and are now an invaluable source of glass, ceramic, hard rubber and metal objects. The privies are, after all these years, completely odorless.
The Johnsons were a political dynasty in Quebec provincial politics. Daniel Johnson père became Premier in 1966. His second son, Pierre-Marc Johnson became Premier in 1985, while his elder son, Daniel fils, became Premier in 1994.
The three were each from a different party: Daniel père was a member of the Union nationale, a right-of-centre Quebec nationalist party; Pierre-Marc was a member of the Parti québécois, a left-of-centre sovereignist party; and Daniel fils was a Liberal, the centrist federalist party.

Breast cancer is wrongly thought by many to be the most common cause of death in women. Each year, around 40,500 women in the United States die of it.
Heart disease is the #1 leading cause of death for women in the United States, killing 289,758 women in 2013, about 1 in every 4 female deaths and 6 times the number of breast cancer deaths. Although heart disease is sometimes thought of as a “man’s disease,” around the same number of women and men die each year of heart disease in the United States.
Studies have shown that women with heart disease symptoms are often misdiagnosed and, particularly with middle aged women, their symptoms are mistaken for psychological or mental health issues.
The American Heart Association was formed in New York City in 1924 as the Association for the Prevention and Relief of Heart Disease. It is currently headquartered in Dallas, Texas. In 1994, the Chronicle of Philanthropy, an industry publication, released a study that showed the American Heart Association was ranked as the 5th “most popular charity/non-profit in America.”
