The RGB color model is an additive color model in which red, green and blue light are added together in various ways to reproduce a broad array of colors. The RGB color model is based on the Young–Helmholtz theory of trichromatic color vision, developed by Thomas Young and Hermann Helmholtz in the early to mid nineteenth century, and on James Clerk Maxwell’s color triangle that elaborated that theory
… aaaaand the RGB values for the San Francisco Giants’ orange are R-253, G-90, B-30. The Giants last won a World Series Championship only four years ago, in 2014. The Los Angeles Dodgers last won a World Series Championship 30 years ago, in 1988.

Dodger Stadium, which opened in 1962 in Chavez Ravine in the Elysian Park area of Los Angeles, is the third oldest ballpark in the major leagues, behind Chicago’s Wrigley Field and Boston’s Fenway Park.
SunTrust Park, home of the Atlanta Braves, opened in 2017 and is the newest of the 30 Major League ballparks. SunTrust Park replaced Turner Field, which had opened in 1997 and was used for just 20 years by the Braves. Currently, there are 13 MLB ballparks that are older than Turner Field.
Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, one of two in the majors named for brands of orange juice along with Houston’s Minute Maid Park, was the original home of the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team. The facility was then called ThunderDome, after a Mel Gibson Mad Max movie.
At Tropicana Field in St. Petersberg, out in the right center field seating area, is a section reserved for actual manta rays swimming. A 10,000 gallon tank called the Rays Touch Tank lets a controlled number of fans to get up close and learn about the three different types of rays in the tank.
As a part of a coin toss bet, the winner, Peter Demens, named the land on which St. Petersburg, Florida was built after Saint Petersburg, Russia, where he had grown up and near where his family had estates. His original name was Pyotr Alexeyevitch Dementyev.
St. Petersburg, Russia, has had other names throughout history, including Petrograd and Leningrad. In the Russian language, St. Petersburg sounds like Sankt Peterburg.
Florida is the 11th largest peninsula in the world, and the third in North America behind the Alaskan Peninsula and the Labrador Peninsula. At 65,755 square miles, it is 19 times smaller than the largest, the Arabian Peninsula.
Technically, the San Francisco Peninsula includes the city of San Francisco on down south to the northern part of Santa Clara County and the cities of Mountain View, Palo Alto, and Los Altos. However to locals, “the peninsula” includes all of the above except for the city of San Francisco proper. In this context, San Francisco is also referred to as The City.
In 1976, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, along with others including Ronald Wayne, built the first 50 Apple I’s in Jobs’s garage in Los Altos, California.
Wildfires have been raging in California. Today, the Mendocino Complex Fire has nearly doubled in size over the last three days to officially become the largest in California history. The Mendocino Complex Fire has burned 283,800 acres – about 444 square miles. That is more than 25% the size of Rhode Island, and about 18% of Delaware.
Becoming a Federal firefighter is a grueling task, certainly a GED is required and some college is recommended, but passing the physical requirements are tasking, having hiking skills and backpacking skills are highly recommended…but in the case of California, CAL FIRE employees are used almost exclusively… (NB: My oldest nephew is a Federal firefighter)
Oberlin College, founded in 1833, was the first American institution of higher learning to regularly admit female and black students. Oberlin has had two female presidents; its second, the incumbent, Carmen Twillie Ambar, 49, is also the first person of color to lead the college.

The Seven Sisters, a consortium of prestigious East Coast liberal arts colleges for women, originally included Mount Holyoke (the first and oldest, founded in 1837), Vassar, Smith, Wellesley, Bryn Mawr, Barnard, and Radcliffe colleges. Today, five of the Seven Sisters remain women’s colleges; Vassar is coeducational and Radcliffe has merged with Harvard, becoming the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.
The Seven Sisters were immortalized in popular culture in a 2003 episode of The Simpsons. After winning the state spelling bee, Lisa Simpson advances to the national finals. However, the moderator, concerned about the contest’s low TV ratings, offers Lisa free tuition (“and a hot plate”) at the Seven Sisters college of her choice if she will allow a more popular contestant, a boy, to win. Lisa refuses, but has a dream in which students from each of the Seven Sisters appear to her.
36-24-36, the “hourglass figure”, has frequently been recognized as the ideal female figure since at least the 1960s.
On The Simpsons, Bart’s locker combination is 36-24-26.

The oldest discovered bricks, originally made from shaped mud and dating before 7500 BC, were found at Tell Aswad, in the upper Tigris region and in southeast Anatolia. Other more recent findings, dated between 7,000 and 6,395 BC, come from the Middle east, Egypt and the Indus Valley cities of Mohenjo-daro, Harappa, and Mehrgarh.
The Bible describes the Garden of Eden lying between the confluence of four rivers, which the Turks claim are the Tigris, the Pison, the Gihon and the Euphrates rivers in modern Turkey. The Bible explicitly states the rivers are Pishon, Gihon, Chidekel, and the Phirat. Some archeologists place the Garden of Eden in Iraq (Southern Mesopotamia), while others place it closer to the Persian Gulf.
The title of Iron Butterfly’s top hit, “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida”, is a drunkenly slurred version of “In The Garden of Eden”. According to drummer Ron Bushy, organist/vocalist Doug Ingle wrote the song one evening while drinking an entire gallon of Red Mountain wine.
