The movie version of LoEG was widely panned, and was the movie where Sean Connery said, enough, and quit the business.
I liked the movie, myself.

One of Sean Connery’s jobs before acting, was polishing coffins.
((An aside: I played in a role-playing game session at the GenCon gaming convention a few years ago, entitled “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen 1970s.” The heroes consisted of Elvis Presley, Evel Knievel, Daisy Duke (from The Dukes of Hazzard), Foxy Brown (from the blaxploitation film of the same name), Philo Beddoe (Clint Eastwood’s character from Every Which Way But Loose), Bandit (Burt Reynolds’ character from Smokey and the Bandit), and Carl Kolchak (from the TV series Kolchak: The Night Stalker). It was probably the funniest, most awesome four hours I’ve ever spent gaming.

Still in play:

The earliest evidence of wooden coffin remains, dated at 5000 BC, was found in the Tomb 4 at Beishouling, Shaanxi. Clear evidence of a rectangular wooden coffin was found in Tomb 152 in an early Banpo site. The Banpo coffin belongs to a four-year-old girl; it measures 1.4 m (4.6 ft) by 0.55 m (1.8 ft) and 3–9 cm thick. As many as 10 wooden coffins have been found at the Dawenkou culture (4100–2600 BC) site at Chengzi, Shandong.
Shaanxi is a north-central province of China (gMap – Google Maps) about 79,000 square miles in size. It size is comparable to Kansas or Nebraska. Shaanxi’s capital city, Xi’an, is the oldest of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of Beijing, Nanjing, Luoyang and Xi’an.
The Kansas-Nebraska Act, passed by Congress in 1854, allowed people in the territories of Kansas and Nebraska to decide for themselves whether or not to allow slavery within their borders. After two pro-slavery elections in the Kansas Territory were thrown out because of fraud, a third election was won by the anti-slavery settlers, and Kansas was admitted as a free state on January 29, 1861.
The song “Dust in the Wind” was the only top ten Billboard Hot 100 charting single by the band Kansas, peaking at #6 in April of 1978. The guitar part for the song was written by Kerry Livgren as a fingerpicking exercise, as he was trying to learn this style of playing. Only after encouragement from his wife did he write lyrics for it. The band members were stunned when Livgren showed them the song, as it was not in their typical style.
ETA: typo
The guitar line for the song “Dust in the Wind” was written by Kerry Livgren as a finger exercise for learning finger picking. His wife, Vicci, heard what he was doing, remarked that the melody was nice, and encouraged him to write lyrics for it. Livgren was unsure whether his fellow Kansas band members would like it, since it was a departure from their signature style. After he played the demo for the band, there was a “stunned silence” and the band asked him, “Kerry, where has this been?”
ETA: Ninja’ed with the same piece of trivia? What are the odds?
In play: Kansas’s recording of “Carry On Wayward Son” is considered the unofficial theme song of the TV series Supernatural. It is played during the recap before every season finale of Supernatural, with the exception of the first season, where it was played during the recap of the penultimate episode.
Kansas entered the Union as a Free State on January 29, 1861. Fort Leavenworth, established in 1827, is the oldest military post in continuous operation west of the Mississippi River.
West of the Mississippi, radio stations start with a K, east of the Mississippi, they start with a W.
Okay, so you all knew that, it’s still trivia.
The most prominent exception to the rule is KDKA radio and TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. KDKA has described itself as the “Pioneer Broadcasting Station of the World”, and traces its beginning, initially using the temporarily assigned “special amateur” call sign of 8ZZ, to its broadcast of the 1920 Harding-Cox presidential election results on the evening of November 2, 1920. KYW in Philadelphia is another example.
It is only an Urban Legend that K and W stood for Kaiser and Westinghouse. KDKA was actually created by Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Co.
Two other exceptions to the Mississippi rule are WKY in Oklahoma City and WEW in St. Louis. WEW is the oldest station west of the Mississippi and WKY is the third-oldest. The second-oldest is the Classic Country station KGU, located, of course, in Honolulu.
At its widest point, the Mississippi River stretches out over 7 miles.
A line segment is defined by a finite length with an infinite number of points between two endpoints in one dimension.
The symbol for infinity is sometimes called a lemniscate. It looks like the number 8 lying on its side. But a lemniscate is a general term for any closed loop resembling a sideways 8, whether it be symmetrical or not. The term comes from the Greek word meaning ribbon.
The Möbius strip, also called the twisted cylinder, is a one-sided surface with no boundaries. It looks like an infinite loop. While some regard it as a scientific curiosity, practical applications include conveyor belts that last longer (because the entire surface area of the belt gets the same amount of wear) and continuous-loop recording tapes (to double the playing time).
The heavy metal band Twisted Sister began in 1972 in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, originally as Silver Star. They were active off and on between 1972 and 2016.
In the song Let 'Em In, Paul McCartney referenced several of his relatives and friends: his aunt (“Auntie Gin”) and brother (“Brother Michael”), the Everly Brothers (“Phil and Don”), Keith Moon (“Uncle Ernie”) and his former bandmate (“Brother John”). “Sister Suzie” was a reference to Linda, who once recorded a song under the name “Suzie And The Red Stripes.”
The Everly Brothers enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1961. In 1962 they performed on The Ed Sullivan Show in their USMC uniforms. They wore their Dress Blues as Privates.
The English association football (soccer) club Birmingham City F.C. is nicknamed “the Blues,” after the traditional color of their uniforms.
Musician Jeff Lynne, leader of the rock band Electric Light Orchestra, is a native of Birmingham, and is a fan of Birmingham City. One of Lynne’s compositions for ELO’s 1977 album Out of the Blue was entitled “Birmingham Blues,” in honor of the team.
