Simon de Montfort, an Anglo-Norman baron, is credited with forcing Henry III to call the first Parliament, setting England on the road to elections, democracy, and ultimately, Prime Minister Cameron.

The expanded edition of Stephen King’s The Stand contains a single reference to “the Shop,” a covert, no-holds-barred government agency featured much more prominently in King’s earlier novel Firestarter.

King Stephen succeeded Henry I, but throughout his reign had to fight off attempts by Henry I’s daughter, the Empress Matilda, to gain the throne.

The British Matilda I and II infantry tanks, built by Vickers–Armstrong Ltd and used in the early days of WWII, were of totally different designs and had no interchangeable components.

Jacques Littlefield (November 21, 1949 – January 7, 2009) founded the Military Vehicle Technology Foundation (MVTF), also called the Littlefield Collection. Actor Lloyd Nolan was one of the founders of the Confederate Air Force (now Commemorative), a group devoted to restoring and exhibition-flying World War II aircraft. The CAF owns “Fifi”, the world’s only flying B-29 (until Doc’s restoration is complete, that is).

Lloyd Nolan played Dr. Chegley in the TV series Julia.

In MAD Magazine’s satire of “Julia” (“Jewelia”), Dr. Chegley was called Dr. Chicklet.

Though not primarily a singer, Lee Marvin did hit the top spot on the UK and Irish charts with his recording of “Wand’rin’ Star”. The number from the film Paint Your Wagon kept “Let It Be” in the No. 2 slot for a time in March of 1970.
