The 2002 Anaheim Angels won their first-ever World Series. A pivotal moment was in Game Six when, with one out in the 7th inning and the Giants leading 5-0, Giants manager pulled starter Russ Ortiz for a reliever. As Ortiz left the mound, Baker, in an inexplicable breach of etiquette, handed Ortiz (what Baker thought, obviously, would be) the “game ball”. The Angels came back and beat the Giants in that game, and they won Game 7 handily.

This moment still pains Giants fans. Still.

Ramón Ortiz of the Angels (not to be confused with Russ) won Game 3 of that 2002 World Series.

The bank was formed from the merger of the Bank of Toronto and the Dominion Bank. The Bank of Toronto was the plaintiff in an early landmark constitutional law case, decided by the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, which interpreted the provincial power of direct taxation. Their Lordships found that the Bank was liable to pay the provincial tax.

SkyDome was the site of the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ 1989 Grey Cup victory, which many consider the best Grey Cup game of all time.

With the score tied at 40-40 and less than a minute on the clock, Riders QB Kent Austin engineered a 48 yard drive to get the Riders into field goal position on the 23 yard line.

The Ti-Cats called a time-out, to put psychological pressure on the kicker, Dave Ridgeway. However, the Saskatchewan holder, Glen Suitor, spent the time-out chatting to Ridegway, pointing out a pretty girl in the stands, and asking Ridgeway what he thought of her.

With play blown in, Bob Poley, a home-grown Saskatchewan good ol’boy, snapped the ball to Suitor; Suitor pinned it; Ridgeway, the Robokicker, kicked it through the uprights, and the Riders had the Grey Cup, 43-40.
