The Korean festival Dano is an official holiday in the North and a traditional one in the South. Originally a shamanistic ritual worshipping the sky deity in celebration of the end of sowing season, it is now celebrated with folk games, including the swing, ssireum, stone battle game seokjeon and taekkyon.
