Trivia questions which, amazingly, have two answers

Bonus bonus: The first pope to adopt a new name upon becoming pope was John II in 533. His birth name was Mercurius and he didn’t feel it was right for a Christian leader to be named after a pagan god.

Bonus binus bonus: Some think the papal name Sixtus may not have been his regnal name, but rather a reference to being the sixth Pope after Peter.

Bonus binus benus banus: I’ve seen some places that say the first pope to have an adopted name was the first pope aka St Peter. Because his birth name was Simon (or Shimon depending on which language you’re transcribing it in).

But Simon didn’t adopt the name Peter when he became pope. He got it years earlier when Jesus began using it as Simon’s nickname. It’s from the Greek word Petros, which means a stone or rock, and Jesus supposedly said that Simon was the rock he would build his church on.

But I think it’s funny that the first pope was essentially named Rocky.

LOL, I know one of the answers, a relatively recent films that I’ve actually seen, Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird

I don’t know the 2nd answer, though.

The Great Muppet Caper (the character in question being Miss Piggy).

What is the fiction book series (of at least six books), still in print in the past 20 years, in which the main character is an elephant?

Disney put out some Dumbo books but I think it was only 3 or 4. So Babar is one.

Elmer the Patchwork Elephant?

You beat me to it. I immediately thought of Babar and Elmer, but I spent time researching Dumbo and Horton, neither of who seem to have six stories.

One of the book series I was thinking of was the Babar books. I was not thinking of the Dumbo books or the Elmer books. I was thinking of a different series. It has never been made into anything of a different media than books. The books are illustrated by a famous artist. The author first began thinking of the stories by telling his children those stories before World War I. He didn’t write them down and get them published until decades later.

The two book series are the Babar series by and the Uncle series by J. P. Martin. The famous artist who has illustrated recent printings is Quentin Blake.. Some recent printings have an introduction by Neil Gaiman. The first time one of the books in the series got published was in 1964, when he was 84:

What actress is the niece of a member of Spike Jones and his City Slickers?

Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Grey? (I’m surer of the first than the second.)

‘Doodles’ Weaver, Sigourney’s uncle was definitely in the band. Jennifer Grey’s grandfather, Mickey Katz, father of Joel Grey was another member. Katz had other children who would have been Jennifer’s uncles who may have been in the group also.

I didn’t know that about Jennifer Grey. She’s not the one I was thinking of, so there may be three answers.

I just found a great video. I’ll post it once the question is answered.

It’s worth mentioning that Pat Weaver (father of Sigourney and brother of Doodles) was president of NBC for a time, and had a hand in creating Today and The Tonight Show.

And unrelated to comedian Charley Weaver whose real name was Cliff Arquette. If you’re old enough you may remember him from the Hollywood Squares. He was the father of actor Lewis Arquette (The Waltons), and grandfather of more well known actors Rosanna, Patricia, Alexis, and David Arquette.

She did a lot of guest roles on television in the 1970s and early-'80s, one cult classic role, then cartoon voice work for a while. Her last IMDb credit is 1994.

Judy Strangis is the niece of Spike Jones, himself.
