Trivia questions which, amazingly, have two answers

That would be ELO & OMD

Close: ELO and Penguin Cafe Orchestra (“Telephone and Rubber Band”) .

(I don’t recall any OMD track with “Telephone” in the title, though they had one called “Telegraph.”)

I could have sworn I answered that question just after QQS answered me. Benicio del Toro.

Close: ELO and [spoiler] .

(I don’t recall any OMD track with “Telephone” in the title, though they had one called “Telegraph.”)

After seeing your answer I was really confused as I have a bootleg from a concert I attended at a small bar in the early 80s with a song called Telephone. I went back and listened to it for the first time in decades and realized it was the local, opening band playing that song. The opening band had to play for hours as OMD got stuck at the border driving down from Canada. I remember the opening act’s keyboard player speaking to a really restless crowd saying, “We love OMD too, but we can’t get them here any faster. Please be nice.”

Also, the O in OMD is for “orchestral” and not “orchestra”, although I concede that the latter is contained in the former.

On August 29th of what year did Serena Williams with the US Open and Albert Pujols hit a home run? To help clairfy, a Guerrero, Biggio, and Bichette also got an MLB hit that day.

Which film, featuring Jamie Lee Curtis in a supporting role and Frank Oz in a cameo role, begins with a wealthy man being served breakfast in bed?

I can’t remember the breakfast in bed scenes, but it sounds like Trading Places and Knives Out.

Oz is also in the credits of Fierce Creatures, which stars Curtis. I don’t know what the opening scenes of all these films are. So I don’t know which ones count.

Aside from the 1965 film The Sound of Music, which film features someone singing the first two lines of its title song?

Goldfinger and Never On Sunday?

Sorry - I have probably expressed myself badly. I mean “In what other movie does someone sing the lines:

“The Hills are Alive

With the sound of Music…”

Here’s another that you likely all know. Who died on the 50th anniversary of proclamation of the Declaration of Independence?

John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.

I bet a lot of other people died on that day too. It would be more interesting to ask, which Founding Father and US president died on the 50th anniversary of proclamation of the Declaration of Independence?

Name a movie with more than one cast member who lived past 100?

On the Waterfront had Eve Marie Saint and Nehemiah Persoff. Bob Hope and George Burns had both appeared in something called College Swing.

An impressively long list of centenarian performers. There may well be other examples. With 383 credits to his name, Charles Lane is a likely common denominator.

Janis Paige was in Bachelor in Paradise with Bob Hope and The House Across the Street with Charles Lane.
