Trivia questions which, amazingly, have two answers

While it’s true that they play a clip of Julie Andrews singing “The Sound of Music” in Addams Family Values, it’s not what I’m looking for – In the movie (s) I’m looking for, the lines are sung by characters in the movie – it’s not a clip from the original film.

I’m pretty sure the lines don’t appear in the South Park movie. It’s not listed in the IMDb “Soundtrack” page.

What is the Capital of South Africa ? they officially have 3 sharing that status !.. umm..

What is the capital of the Netherlands ? Its law says in a line about Coronations, which is only saying things for the purpose of coronations , that they should occur at Amsterdam, the capital. (The purpose of describing the place in two different ways is unclear. ) .. Its problematic. They do say its Amsterdam, but we know its a paper thin claim… the only capital function of Amsterdam is coronations. What if you say the Hague ? and the next monarch could decide not to have the coronation at Amsterdam, as its only letters patent not even locked in law or constitution.

Interesting that on that list, while there are a bunch of folks who made it to 104 years, not a single one made it to 105 or beyond. Some sort of glass ceiling?

I am also curious whether, assuming he makes it to 100, will David Attenborough be the first TV/Film star to still be actively making new content at the century mark? (And crawling in the grass after animals no less)

Of men turning 100, only 1 in 17 are expected to make it to 105. Of women turning 100, 1 in 12 are expected to make 105. To put those numbers in further perspective, ~0.7% of men live to 100, while ~2% of women do. These are very rare birds indeed.

Across all of society there are rather a lot of people who make it to 100. Such that the statistics I mention will reliably apply to the whole cohort Once you add the additional requirement for the new centenarian to be a celebrity, the absolute numbers get real small. Small enough that bad luck could explain whey nobody has made it to 105 yet.

Interesting one I just saw: In this year, a new Pope was elected and the Seattle Seahawks went to the Super Bowl as the #1 seeded NFC team.

There are actually three correct answers: 2005, 2013, 2025.

From 2000-2025 The Price Is Right producer was Adam Sandler. Not that one. I am sure something could be done with that.

For many years the producer of Jeopardy was Kevin McCarthy, but not the guy from Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

In which film does a cartography expert played by Bob Balaban command several other characters’ attention by saying “Excuse me. Excuse me.”?

I just realized that this one belongs here:

In which Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper film is Inspector Lestrade played by Frank Finlay?

In which animated children’s show is there a dog named Bandit ?

(If you only get one of the two, which one you get will surely depend on your age.)

Being ancient, I only know Jonny Quest’s dog. Looking it up on the ‘net, I see there’s a Bandit in Bluey, too. Our daughter is well past Bluey age (Actually, when I first heard of Bluey, I thought they were talking about Blue’s Clues, so it’s understandable I wouldn’t know. But I admit that looking it up is cheating.

I had to look up the spelling, so I guess I’m cheating too. Nor did I know the last name. Apparently it’s Bluey Heeler.

An old post, but no one made the correction.

The one in Turkey is spelled Galatia. One of Paul’s Epistles is to the Galatians.
