  1. Who is uncle beer?
  2. Why if it says banned can DippyMonger still post? What otherwise does banned mean?

1 - UncleBeer is another poster on this board.

2 - DippyMonger cannot post now that he has been banned. However, posts he made before being banned will remain.

Shouldn’t the term be “trawling,” anyway? At least in the fishing-for-trouble sense.

trolling: to fish by trailing a line behind a slow-moving boat.

trawling: Using a buoyed line in sea fishing, having numerous short lines with baited hooks attached at intervals.

Don’t know banned user or why he was exiled but per above depends on how successful he was at being a pest. It does seem that that based on posts I have seen pass without censure that someone must pretty much peg the SDMB pestometer needle for SDMB to dump you.
