IIRC, the snopes boards had a rule that if you said you were leaving (the boards, not a particular thread; and without the caveat that you were just taking a temporary break) that was it: you were out. Effectively it was an automatically-granted request to be banned.

Said rule would have to be really well publicized to be fair, of course.

Hmm, yes, “Flouncers and their Steeds.” Not very well received…

And FWIW, I see haven’t committed to my permanent ignore promise either (that is, I must have scrubbed them off my ignore list at some point).
