When I do the @superd, then he shows up. My search result screenshot is when I omit the @.
Ah. Maybe without the @ it doesn’t actually check for active members. It’s doing a text search first, trying to find posts with that word in it, and then lists the poster names.
I’m the best at what I do, and what I do is very occasionally notice who might be a sock.
To be fair, I only saw the pit thread after @Aspenglow had alerted the modloop and I started the banning process. She caught this one fast.
With apologies to the original…
But the [trock] came back, the very next day,
The [trock] came back, they thought he was a goner,
But the [trock] came back, just wouldn’t stay away.
Over in the Why Trump felt he could mishandle Top Secret files thread, aruvqan posted
First off: Nope. She did not run through the standard background check for a security clearance. Her husband is the one who was the subject of that.
Second: the rest of the post concerning phone tapping at her house, etc. is certainly bullshit.
I had zero interaction with her until she jumped into a thread I started some years ago about armed idiots pretending to protect military recruiting stations, and she then spewed absolute and utter bullshit. Evidently that’s her MO as that post above quoted it. Is it attention seeking, a weird (alternate) view of reality, or just stupidity? Who knows, but it’s damn little difference from trolling (see attention seeking).
Whenever I see a post by her in any thread, I immediately think, "Oh, yeah; she’s going to say that she’s not only done that herself but to a better extent or been subject to it herself but to more degreee. And the post quoted above doesn’t lead away from that thought.
That’s awesome! How did you find that? I stopped reading Dilbert a couple of years ago, so it’s no longer on my radar.
Honestly I just remembered there was a character named “Topper” in Dilbert whose schtick was just like aruvqan so I Googled “topper dilbert” and that was one of the results.
So I’ve begun the process of removing Roger_That. 6 Warnings in 16 months and a 1 week suspension is quite the achievement. Warnings from 4 different mods.
Trolling post here:
Jr. Modding here:
Warning here:
So, Roger_&_Out?
Or “Roger, over!” as said in Airplane!
But I’ve started the process, I now have to wait for the majority of mods to agree he is more trouble than he’s worth.
@What_Exit - I think the troublesome poster is more the right track than the trolling. Not that RT may not be a troll, but he’s one of our (several) high functioning ones. I did notice a huge recent surge of posting in the threads I read, and he’s normally pretty darn combative. And his recent uptick in posting and creating threads (almost all the 6 or so he started in the last 7 days looked very much like bait) seems like SOMETHING has set him off.
But you guys see more of the patterns and warnings than we ever will. Trolling or not, the last thread was a hell of a neener-neener, you can only do it my way or the highway, and was absolutely poison bait. But 6 warnings in 16 months… I had no idea the poster was that bad.
He’s been mentioned multiple times in this thread for separate incidents going back to March.
No, I knew that they’d repeatedly made an ass of themselves, but didn’t know just how many warnings they had pulled down. By per post irritation here, Octo would be the more visible jerk by comparison.
Some might say they are.
(But probably not from a moderator perspective.)
Well, I still suspect Roger is a sock of someone. But he’s also a very aggressive poster and I’m not unhappy to see him go.
I’m surprised it took that long – dude should’ve been banned a long time ago.
Another one from my block list gone. Should I just give y’all a list?
Just a quick note that sharing your block list in public is against the rules. You may have been kidding, but just in case you’re not I’ll offer this suggestion to save you an official censure.
