Trolls R Us Resurrections

The correct response is “Yes, actually, I was. Go ahead, prove me wrong.”

“Because I was there and didn’t see you. Prove me wrong.”

This type will attempt to lay low, may try to participate in non-contentious threads, but may also pick up a few Category 1-2 warnings here and there, like he did yesterday.

Eventually however the urge cannot be resisted anymore, they’ll go completely off the deep end, start a truly loony thread which will attract all sorts of attention and reports, and will soon go down in flames as the entire mess mushrooms out of control (until the inevitable lock).

I give him a week before that happens.

I may be (most certainly) totally off with my trolldar, but this OP pinged my curiosity:

Dealing with a Personal Disability at Work. What Would You Do?

(https://boards.straightdope.com/t/dealing-with-a-personal-disability- at-work-what-would-you-do/980875)

MCS is a controversial diagnoses. According to Johns Hopkins:

Multiple chemical sensitivity is under debate in the medical community at this time. Some healthcare providers question whether it exists and whether the underlying illness is not medical but rather psychiatric, and that the symptoms are caused by anxiety. Others acknowledge it as a medical disorder triggered by exposures to chemicals, electromagnetic forces, or other environmental triggers.

> Wiki has some more info:

MCS is not recognized as an organic, chemical-caused illness by the World Health Organization, American Medical Association, nor any of several other professional medical organizations. Blinded clinical trials show that people with MCS react as often and as strongly to placebos as they do to chemical stimuli; the existence and severity of symptoms is seemingly related to the perception that a chemical stimulus is present.

The very first topic started by the OP - Mrs_Fairway -was seven years ago (March '16):

Fragrance Sensitivity-Does Anyone Else Have This?
(https://boards.straightdope.com/t/fragrance-sensitivity-does-anyone- else-have-this/750403)

Which does seem related to the current topic.

To be fair there was also this thread:

Troll or not, I don’t think it’s a good idea to engage and encourage them.

Feels more like a one-topic poster than someone looking to cause trouble. Not worth my time, though.

@Charlie_Tan, I broke the links in your post. When you link directly to another thread in Discourse, in creates a reverse link in the other thread back to the first thread. This can lead to inadvertently insulting posters outside the Pit, by, for example, calling them a troll. Please don’t link directly to “troll” posts from this thread to avoid this problem. You can post the link, and throw a space into the URL to prevent the backlink problem, while still letting everyone know which post you’re talking about.

No warning issued.

Is this the official name for a group of mods?

No, that’s a modicum.

TMI, dude. T.M.I.

A band of mods, surely.

A vespa of mods?

A podge of mods?

It’s a hivemind of mods.

A squad of mods??

ETA: covered by @Gyrate in #3707

You probably just made someone’s day.

I’m sure I don’t know what you mean.

Nuh huh.

A jackboot of mods.

A ban-hammer of mods.

A Tedium of Moderators?
