Yeah, I missed that. Last I saw it he was just thanking people, and actually starting to act a bit more conversational. At first I thought he might just be being brusque with his matter of fact statements. But he seems genuinely upset at very basic questions.

Just for the record, I support and agree with your POV on the issue @Babale, although in my darker moments I too wish for a harsher treatment for the Palestinian population for their direct and tacit support of their leader’s actions. But I know that’s the emotional kneejerk reaction to friends and family put at risk for the gain of Hamas leaders and their pursuit of never-ending war or annihilation of their enemies.
I feel better when I remind myself that I’m not them, nor will I let myself become them.
But the nasty dark side remains, albeit hidden, whispering in the depths.

Babale did use the words “collateral damage” but in a very specific context, and otherwise has been very clear that Hamas and Palestiniians are not synonymous.

Side note, after I flagellated myself over the TATA moment, I was wondering if we need a companion pit thread, something like “What were you THINKING?” here in the Pit, for our usual distractions where we have a poster we don’t think is a troll, but said something so fucking out there that it had to be ranted about, without going to the effort of giving someone their own dedicated thread.
Since it’s one of our more common distractions. But I felt it would suck some life out of this thread, and didn’t think we really needed another general gripe thread. But on the gripping hand, it could be useful, and that title (or something like it) shouldn’t fall afoul of our Pit back-linking title issues. I think.
I like the title and also don’t think it would run foul of our link-back rules. But I’m not the final arbitrator.
