Trolls R Us Resurrections

ALWAYS right after I go to bed and have logged off. No amusement for me, alas, unless I am willing to camp out here after midnight for 2 f. hours…

I mean, really. Why do these people never join and post in the middle of the fucking day already?!

Vampires? :face_with_peeking_eye:

Capital idea!

Maybe they hope all the mods will be asleep.

I also seem to have missed this one entirely. Which is just as well.

We get a fair amount of Friday night pure trolls. Though not as much as we use to.

Maybe it’s the middle of the day in their time zone.

Signed, Europe.

Nope, very few from Europe are the ones behind those I was speaking of. But they had clearly more time on their hands and knew Mod coverage was light on Friday nights.

Sadly, he hasn’t published any science fiction novels.

Sadly, it would only last for a spell.

Really though, he was the best of the recent trolls in persistence if nothing else. It takes a massive ego troll, a virtual planetoid as it were, to keep immediately (if briefly) creating multiple new accounts and continuing the “I was silenced!” martyrdom and continuing to post.

Of course, HERE, you can be silenced. And on that day, the cornfield was well fed. It sleeps now, waiting, ever patient, ever watchful, for the chance to feed again. :scream:

Technically, the cornfield does not feed. It waits patiently for the next offering.

Once that was true, once. But after eating so many hate filled socks, the Cornfield has grown, as all things do. One cannot touch that much evil and stupidity and go unchanged. This is why no Mod will ever let us see the breadth of the cornfield, for to gaze upon it without the proper rituals would drive you mad. It is written of only in the Black Book of the Mods, wrapped in darkened Trollhide, passed from one to another, and none will speak of it’s terrible techniques.

Our greatest blessing is that while time may pass between trolls and trocks, the Cornfield is frequently appeased with the unending Spam that the internet generates, and with this the Cornfield is made docile. For now. For now.

Vunderbar!

If he had kept to the one username and one thread and had a modicum of self control, I was thinking at first maybe he could have managed to stay. I don’t think he could have held together something that would have passed muster in GD, but he seemed initially to be a crank with a sense of humor.

But it went downhill fast.

He was the best of trolls

He was the worst of trolls

That sounds so familiar, but it beats the dickens out of me where I’ve heard it before.

You heard in in one of two cities, I tale you!

A tale of two cites.

The mods should open it up (but read-only!) next April Fool’s. Laugh at all the fools wandering around in there, as the worms feed on what passes for their brains…

The story we usually get from the mods is “you really don’t want to see the crap that’s in there”. What they really mean is, “we’re keeping this treasure trove of lunacy for ourselves, and we’re not sharing!”. It’s a privilege, like the revered SDMB coffee mug! :grinning:

Somewhat more seriously though, I do have recollections of some of the stuff that soon headed for the cornfield, and it’s generally some combination of stream-of-consciousness incoherence and gut-busting illiteracy.
