@What_Exit did mention that this poster was getting some modloop attention already. And that OP got reported and shut down, so that’s more evidence that the moderation team is already aware of.

New friend santypanty started a thread innocently asking if the BeeGees were old people music. (Currently in CS after the mod moved it there from someplace less appropriate.)
Comes across as a naive 12-year old, but I noticed an interesting technical “tell”: their post is all of 5 characters long (“is it”).
It takes a lot of specific knowledge to make Discourse accept less than 10 visible characters as a complete post. Someone knows more about the forum system than they seem they should.
Yeah, this could be a preteen Discourse savant, but I’m still assuming horses instead of zebras at this point.
Discourse only needs 5 characters I thought?

It’s a valid question, I think. It was just put in the wrong forum. If it was about almost any other Boomer rock band it might be suspect, but the Bee Gees are kinda unique in the way their fan demographic changed.
If so, my bad. I think it’s an admin-configurable setting and another Discourse I’m on has it set to 10.

I think when the SDMB went live, it was set higher and they lowered it to 5 pretty quickly. I wasn’t a Mod at that point.
They also have a thread now asking “how to spell showfor” which apparently was asking about the word “chauffer”. Again, no other context. Gives a strong troll vibe to me.

Yup, and that is a very effective way to troll. Make it somewhat ambiguous as people scramble to figure out what the fuck you mean and just sit back and watch the fallout.
