They’ve been an active member here for 16 years, with over 13,000 posts. If they’re a sock, they’re playing a very long game.
When I was a sock puppet investigator over on Wikipedia, we classified accounts as masters and puppets. Typically, the master is the original or “main” account, and the puppets are either created to support the master or get around a block or ban inflicted on the master.
If Babale was involved in socking I’d consider that a master, though I haven’t ever seen any evidence of socking on their behalf.
(That doesn’t mean I don’t disagree with Babale every now and then, and in some threads on certain topics I automatically scroll past their posts because I know it’s just going to be a waste of time to read them.)
Then, he returned to his ATMB thread, insisting that he had not asked for a forum ban, as well as insisting that he had not been notified of receiving said ban. Aspenglow’s response to him is solid gold.

He’s got a thread in ATMB that I’m having trouble believing is made in good faith, based off of his responses.
My immediate instinct was “trock,” but then I’m pretty sure my trockdar is overly sensitive (though has not been shown to be wrong too many times).
Obvious trock. After about a short while, it’ll (checks troll playbook) proclaim that we forced it to become pro-Trump because of our extreme rhetoric. Then the traditional suicide by mod.

At the very least that is clearly a sockpuppet of someone. In all likelihood though, it’s a trock who is trying to establish itself like a sleeper agent before doing the usual suicide bomber routine.
When that happens, it will be another yawn and gone.
