It’s the Pit, darling. Some people like to use a designated flame forum for flaming, which may include all kinds of nasty swears and insults and just general invective that does not accurately reflect their true deepest feelings or communication style. There’s no need to take to the fainting couch about it.
I likewise don’t tend to use the Pit for violently expressing interposter “rage” or “hate” or “pile ons”, but I don’t assume that other posters who do so use it must be emotionally or psychologically off the rails in some way. Un-clutch those pearls and just continue to avoid the Pit if it really bothers you.
Says the guy who in post #1870 explicitly insults another poster, by name, as “overly emotional, hypocritical and has a limited grasp of things”, and then in post #1903 sanctimoniously tut-tuts that insulting and “hating” on other posters in the forum explicitly designated for hating and insults is a sign of being “mentally disturbed”.

Everyone else is hating. octopus is merely playing the game by their rules. The two are completely different, or so octopus keeps ensuring us.
How selfless and dutiful of him to keep returning to a forum he disapproves of, to repeatedly imitate behavior that he considers indicative of being “mentally disturbed”, just so that he can continue “playing the game by their rules”.
Really, octopus, if you honestly don’t like the “game” of Pit invective and pile-on, you don’t have to play it. But if you do choose to play it, stop trying to pretend that other people are somehow responsible for your own behavior.

That’s all he has. Everything he does is somehow someone else’s fault. Accountability is for other people.
He loves the game. He’s just playing a different one, where he winds people up by being a hypocrite.
He’s continuing it, doing the same thing to other posters. And he’s allowed to do it because I was told by a mod that it’s only “snark and sarcasm” and it’s allowed.

Opinion, should the following be getting another suspension? Poster Blue_Thunderbird, has opened 3 thread, all of which were pretty much immediately shut down for being empty of content. The first 3/30/22 (Race), the second the same damn day on Race which was somehow even LOWER in content, and then today on Domestic Terrorism which was a ‘can’t believe this’ plus a link.
I’ll point out our own @What_Exit gave them an ever so slightly snarky one day suspension after the 2-in-1 content free starter threads. I’m not sure they’re technically a troll, but the combative attitude in their first thread, and the flippant follow-up thread aren’t a good sign, nor is their posting to reading ratio. I mean, they are a newer join, and they could be a Reddit style poster where they’re trying to make a splash with clickbait style threads, but that’s not a good look either.
I wonder if @engineer_comp_geek was aware of the prior content free threads when closing the newest - because I would have expected a more pointed note when it’s 3 for 3.
And they managed to get in a sneer about the concept of “hate speech” in an ATMB thread about hate speech, while they were at it.
And the link was a image on Facebook. Part of it was a painting (iirc) with some specific guy pointed out on it. Another part was a photograph of a social security card with that name with most of the numbers blacked out. There was a third part, but I don’t remember what it was (possibly another document?). I had never heard of whoever the guy was (and don’t remember the name). I have no clue what it was all supposed to mean.
I think there was someone recently saying weird things about federal laws and internet censorship? Maybe it was FortKnox I was thinking of? All those posts are removed, but a mod could see them, to compare Blue_Thunderbird.

That last one is directed at e_c_g, so I haven’t even bothered reporting the fucker.
His posts seem to be made up of randomly generated English words arranged in somewhat close approximation to valid grammatical patterns but completely devoid of meaning. I once wrote a computer program that did that. You could arrange selected lines to form a sort of other-worldly “computer poetry”. I don’t know if it actually made more sense than anything Blue_Thunderbird has ever posted here, but it was certainly more entertaining.
