I don’t know if this is the right venue, but: 30 year old daughter, college education, several health problems, has worked 3 jobs at times, is presently working a strenuous physical job. She is trying to get back on her insurance, whatever kind it was, she had it before, and has to renew it. It is NYS insurance, and she is getting the runaround. Computer timeouts, no one answers the phone, she is being stonewalled at every turn, has been trying for weeks now. She is in despair and says she might as well die. I am in despair. (We just retired and are fnancially OK, We can pay for an occasional Urgent Care Visit and maybe a generic prescription or two, but if she gets seriously ill or injured, what then?) Any advice? (I know people are in the same boat everywhere, and we are not ‘special’.) Would getting a lawyer on it move things along? I guess she has till Dec. 15 and she’s been trying and trying, and getting nowhere. Any advice? (Christmas, and I have to look happy and entertain, and all I can think about is my daughter’s health. And mine, too.)
Has she tried contacting a navigator?
Yes. I guess she just has to wait till someone gets back to her. There is a problem or two I didn’t know about. It’s the bureaucracy, and it’s the Big Fat Jolly Fucking Holiday Season when no one is in the office or cares.
I bet her “access denied”. Mine is.
