Trouble in Paradise (Mafia Game Thread)

Just finished reading the Scum board and boy did I get lucky. You guys had me pegged and I would have died even if I had not claimed.

I second this. Great job Biotop!

You got lucky but you also played smart. Another smart play of yours was NOT investigating Prof P. the first night. If you had done that we would have been a step ahead. So if I may ask, what led you to investigate Mahaloth the first night?

Well, I feel foolish now for being so chummy with Biotop! But very well played, sir. It’s hard to see how we might have managed to defeat you, since even when it was down to a 50-50 shot none of the three of us could make a decent case against you. I suppose had I not posted so early yesterDay, we might have managed it, but even then I’m not sure.

And yes, congratulations to Johnny Bravo once again on an excellent game. I look forward to my next one - but not for at least several weeks, I think.

Dead Cat, you played very, very, very well for your first game! A lot better’n me.

No need to feel a fool. He did a good job of blending in. I’m sorry we both got played in the end, but we managed to win it in the end. Diet win is win.

DeadCat, it seemed the best case scenario for me when snfaulkner voted for you. Neither you nor Hooker could afford to break the tie by changing your vote to me. If I had switched my vote for you, then the balance would have been broken and either you or Hooker might have been freed to make a case against me.

I actually had another long “analysis” post last evening where I switched my vote to you. But just before posting it I realized what a mistake that would be. I threw the two pages of accusations against you into the trash.

One last thought. I am going to miss the game.

I really enjoyed interacting with the all the players, especially my two pseudo-masons DeadCat and HookerChemical. Even as I was trying to deceive you, there was a part of me pulling for you all to get it right. I hope to encounter you both in another game, and for my sake I hope you are on my side for real the next time!

Well done, Biotop! You had me completely fooled. I would have bet the ranch on Hooker being scum.

Thanks.

So close… sigh.

I also want to congratulate Johnny Bravo on a great first outing as a Mod.!

How was the tie broken? How did we lose? :frowning:

Well, im glad we won. BUT, it does seem quite hollow.

Biotop, well played sir, well played. Despite being completely horswaggled by you, at least I was right in not believing your case against hooker.

For those that are interested, after my wife visited ridley (our sick foster dog) ladt night, I was sure we’d be putting the poor guy down today. But no! He was alert and way more perjy than he has been and actually ate on his own! Hes not out of the woods yet, but I hope we can bring him home tomorrow or Sunday. Thankfully his owner has the money to pay for treatment. If he was our dog, we would have had to put him down already.

At anyrate, phone typing sucks. I’ll catch up with the deathread tomorrow at work. Awesome game everyone and especially or Humble Narrator, Johnny Bravo!

Biotop, this was the post that made me investigate Mahaloth on the first night.

Great news!

Johnny Bravo asked two players for some rock, paper, scissors choices, and the randomly-chosen wolf side lost. I think. I still say scum had the moral victory on this one - in a game with more usual rules in the event of a tie, they would probably have won. On the other hand, if the rule was that a tie would result in no lynch, we may have avoided the tie on the penultimate Day.

IRConfused wins the best town player award for me - without his perfectly-timed information, we would probably have got nowhere near winning.

In terms of improving my play for next time, I need to do more listening and less talking, and not take it so personally if someone votes for me. By jumping on Hooker at the end, I got us into a vicious circle of accusing each other which meant Biotop was barely even considered.

Oh. I would have thought a tie goes to scum. OK.

Good game, folks. I hope someone gets one going soon!
