Why did no one tell me Tru Calling was back on the air starting tonight? Damn people, don’t you know I count on you for these sorts of things?
Interesting that Fox picked up Point Pleasant instead of continuing Tru Calling, but that TC ended up replacing PP…
I think 6 episodes of TC were made.
Nice to see Liz Vassey (Capt Liberty of the live action Tick) again.
Brian
Why did they cancel Point Pleasant? Does anybody know?
As much as I like Eliza, I just can’t drum up any interest in “psychic detective” shows. “Can’t find any clues. Maybe I should consult my psychic abilities…”
TC, Medium and The Dead Zone might be great shows, but I’ll never know.
TC isn’t a psychic detective show. Tru doesn’t know the future because she foresees it. She knows the future because she relives days. She doesn’t consult her psychic powers; just her memory.
Don’t get too excited, there are only three or four episodes that they ordered that they haven’t shown and this two hour premiere plus I think a run through April and they’re done with it. They cancelled it already, they’re not bringing it back.
It’s gone – like every other good show they get hold of, it is gone. That is why I refuse to support them anymore --Serenity is what broke my camel’s back. I’m done with them.
I would have missed tonight’s premiere, but I was reading the comics at lunch and my eyes happened to wander over to the TV page, where there was a big ol’ picture of the magnificent Eliza Dushku.
I thought this show deserved a second season. It seemed to have all the pieces in place.
It certainly getting there, that’s for sure. Too bad I missed the season opener; I’m sure, however, someone will have it recorded.
I believe it was getting worse ratings this year than Tru was last year in the same timeslot.
I would crawl a mile through broken glass if I thought Eliza would as much as wink at me, but I never saw a whole episode of Tru Calling. Its premise just seemed so random and unfocused; The Sixth Sense meets Seven Days.
The few minutes of one or two episodes that I saw didn’t disabuse me of that impression.
Actually, I’m glad if the show has been cancelled, because that serves to re-stoke my hopes for the “Faith on a motorcycle” spinoff. Unlikely as that may be to happen.
I wanted to watch it, but when they put it on the same time as Survivor and The Apprentice, it doesn’t stand a chance. I happened to catch it once on a business trip and liked it.
Nice thing about Tru Calling is that if you miss the first half hour, no biggie…you just watch it again in the second half hour.
Speaking of which, also missed that it was showing last night, but quickly started taping 45 minutes into the 2 hour show. Guess I will find out if I missed anything when I watch it this weekend.
Love Eliza Dushku to death, but I despise Tru Calling. Point Pleasant had more charm and style than that show. Bleeeh.
My local Hollywood Video store has every episode (yet broadcast) on DVD.
I might have to check that out. Luckily for me this week, someone recorded the stream, so I’m going to grab it from them and catch up. Thanks for the info!
