I’m heading out to sunny CA this weekend for an interview that will, hopefully, get me the hell out of NC. In case I’ve never mentioned it, I hate North Carolia. I hate the 30 minute drive to Walmart. I hate the acceptance of ignorance around here. I simply can not believe that not only are there still low-rider/mini-trucks around here, there are little herds of them! I’m 27 and I hate the fact that there are no available women that:
don’t have some sort of drug habit,
don’t look like they brush their teeth with tobacco or butter,
don’t have 3 kids by the time they are 19,
or
aren’t grossly, and I mean really really really, obese (it’s unhealthy).
Anyone looking for an experienced Industrial and Systems Engineer with QS-9000 lead auditing skills, please contact me. I swear I won’t spend as much time on the internet at your company :).
I don’t know if you’re absolutely set on CA, or not, but we have job openings for damn near everything here in Dallas. Headhunters have been hounding me almost non-stop for about 6 months now. Check out http://www.texas.computerjobs.com if you’re at all interested.
As far as the south goes, boy, brother, do I know how you feel.
My husband and I lived for 3-1/2 years in and around Nashville, TN. Ignorant, litterers (like trash), no dental hygiene, frequently cruel (to animals), breeders.
Now, before you Southern folks out there get all riled, you know the contingent I’m talking about and if you frequent this Board, it’s obviously NOT YOU!
Phoenix area is seriously hurting for skilled computer geeks. All the tech companies have moved out here recently, and since they are recruiting from damn near everywhere, there is a nice mix. Check the monster board for tons of jobs and recruiting agencies.
BTW, hubby’s job is making me relocate to Iowa. He’s been there several weeks already and tells me it is the land of the intolerant marshmallow people. Great! After living most of my life in SoCal, I can finally live somewhere where I might be considered thin and hip.
Or you could always check http://www.techiegold.com, tons of great jobs - of course, none for a frickin’ creative writing major that likes web design, but I won’t get into that…
Stick with California Bro. There’s nowhere finer in all of the 50 states!
Tech co’s are bending over backwards to offer money hand over fist to competent SysEngs and the like. If you do decide to come out west though, you’ll have to forget how much everything costs in Carolina, cause it’ll just look outrageous to you here.
