He’s starting to add in his own words and emphasis. It’s going to happen, he’s going to go stream of consciousness, I just know it. . .

Has anyone else noticed that he pretty much only looks at the side of the room that stands up and applauds all the time?
ETA: And has anyone else noticed that he’s using a lot of “props”?
Why is he getting standing ovations for stating the obvious?
I want to declare here that I am NOT made by anyone’s god.
I notice some Democrats have been standing and clapping too at times.
Even when he tries to be inspirational he has somehow the wrong demeanor for it, dammit.
More word salad. Lots of words, pretty words, he’s got all the words. . . but not one plan of action, not one fact to report, not one, single, stinking, useful sentence.
He’s just up there reading bad poetry.
That went remarkably well. Trump isn’t a great speaker by any means but that wasn’t bad at all.
I agree. The Garrison Keillor imitation is just creepy valley . . .
The bar was so very low, tho.
Amen!
Is it over? That was pretty short.
It was tedious and boring. No fun/terrible meltdowns.
I am not a general Trump supporter by any means but I think he did a very good to great job. It won’t sell on the SDMB but I can promise you that it will sell well with the general American public. A lot of the ideas that he floated were liberal to flat-out progressive. We will have to see how that translates into action but it certainly wasn’t bad.
However, it was clear that he wasn’t the person that wrote his speech (not that most Presidents do). He is just trying to be the populist that he is and let other people make the real decisions.
Said Melania on her wedding night.
Which are you thinking about specifically? The infrastructure one has often been touted as such, but that may not really be the case.
I thought it was a solid speech, obviously heavily edited by his staff. If any of that kumbaya shit survives his first tweet, I’ll be amazed, however.
Cool. Then we can re-elect President Obama.
I didn’t watch. Did Trump propose a tax cut for the wealthy? We all know it’s coming.
