As a first move the SOD proposes sending in 500 more troops. To do what?
Rough people up, violate their rights. You know, Republican stuff.
Oh, this gonna be bad.
Them guardsman should not have been there. I read something that said they were basically walking around. Even picking up trash.
Any word on the shooter? (Or should I ask in the other thread?)
Kash Patel said something about, they were the front line of American Defense.
Other than “obviously” a Democrat, no. ![]()
This is how a country totally fucked up by an evil and corrupt administration, with incompetents in charge of all key positions, gets more and more fucked up day by day, one day at a time. No one knows what they’re doing, least of all the unstable and vindictive Orange Buffoon, and things just get worse in a self-perpetuating cycle.
Took me a second. Should be SoW?
More like SoB.
Yeah, but the media I watched is still saying Secretary of Defense.
Because that’s his official title. The Secretary of War thing is just play acting. Unless and until Congress changes the name of the Department of Defense.
Kash Patel just gave a completely nonsensical response in the press conference. Gah. What a maroon.
I was riffing on ‘Quiet, piggy.’
The few bits of information are that the shooter targeted the victims, turned around a corner and immediately opened fire. No definition of what “targeted” meant. National Guard in particular? Any ICE outsiders? All police?
No number of extra troops can possibly halt such an attack. The attack was near the Metro and close to the White House, where floods of armed guards already can be found. Adding more is political theater. At worst more targets to a shooter.
At best… There is no possible good that can result. The highest probability is an excuse to flood Democratic cities with shock troops. Which will mean more deaths caused by them. Which is also a worst.
I hope Gov. Newsom is formulating a response (though he should probably wait until the Guardsmen are out of danger medically) which includes “this never would have happened if Trump wasn’t President”.
This is so likely that it’s impossible to dismiss the idea that the shooter was “false flag” (actually a regime supporter) or was some poor noddy manipulated into doing this by someone connected to the regime.
And we may never learn any real facts. It’s more than a year since the Pennsylvania poor noddy shot up a Trump rally, and we still know virtually nothing about him.
I, seriously, can’t stand kash
patel during these press briefings. He so busy preening, huffing and puffing, and beating his chest it’s gross. After that moron gets done a professional law officer talks like a normal professional human explaining the facts. His doing so just highlights what a total buffoon Patel is.
Professionals have likely identified several personality disorders exhibited by that particular specimen.
I read that as an admission that they have been forward deployed like this for the intentional purpose of being targeted/caught in random crossfire. We know Trump wants a reason to crack down (hell, Trump thinks people should be put to death just for criticizing the military). Put enough troops in enough places and eventually someone is going to come into conflict with them.
I would also disagree with Patel’s assessment of the National Guard as the “front line”. They are absolutely not the front line. They are the completely unnecessary line that no other President has ever thought about deploying for these purposes.
To somebody who thinks that the American public is The Enemy that needs to be crushed, they are the front line.
It’s as if appointing a podcast bro with no law enforcement experience to run the FBI was a bad idea.
This is my answer to any Thanksgiving conversations about sending Afghan refugees back:
Afghan Refugee A Hero In Hungary After Saving Man’s Life
If anyone has examples in the United States, please provide. If they do not yet exist, I’m sure they would start appearing in future decades if these refugees are not deported.
