Wow. Can you test negative during the incubation period between catching it and showing any symptoms, I wonder? Anyone know?

Heck, you can test negative for it while you’ve got the fever, cough, and fatigue. The tests have a higher failure rate than one would like (actually, that’s true of all medical tests).

From what I’ve looked up it sounds like the WH uses the rapid Abbott Labs test, which has around a 15% false negative rate.
I’m just kind of curious how this went down. Did he, for instance, catch it on a day off and then the next time he reported to work he was positive? Or has he just been on duty and testing falsely negative and only when the symptoms appeared did he test positive.
So that article says that the drivers is part of a Navy elite unit.
I guess we can infer that he’s a SEAL. Which would make sense, probably.
I think elite means the White House unit he works for, not his Navy unit. There are not very many SEALs so I don’t think they would send one to the White house to work.
Well that makes sense I guess. I figured that anyone driving the president would have pretty extensive driving training, which a SEAL could very well already have.
Then again, it could be a pencil-neck ensign with really good manners…
My 35 year old son just went back to work after 3 weeks off. Had a fever, trouble breathing, spent a night in the hospital, etc.
The nurses said that they were sure he had Covid-19 and that they, the nurses, have little faith in the reliability of these tests.
His tests came back negative. Of course this is just one case that I have first hand knowledge of, but it does not inspire my confidence in these tests.
Secret service does the driving of the limo and other vehicles. And they get extensive training on how to drive in emergency situations. there are secret service people who have uniforms too but most of the guys with the president wear a standard suit and tie.
Well that half answers a scenario i was going to present. And I’m glad this thread exists cause i didn’t to give it a thread of its own.
You know I typed this all out…and though i haven’t seen anyone say “don’t post assasination scenarios”…I’ll bet its frowned upon. So i deleted it. So 'ill just say that much if anyone wants to have an oblique discussion.
That said…I would not be surprised if the Secret Service has already implemented policy to make this unlikely.
Obama had what they called his “body man” who was a former Duke BB player. Reggie Love He helped with various stuff. He started working for Obama during the 08 campaign.
I would guess this guy is like that for Trump.

This guy is a valet. I think he is part of the US Navy unit that runs the White House Mess.

I’m just sure Trump will start wearing a mask now since he knows he’s been exposed.
Who’d of thought there’d be an advantage to being (well known as) a germaphobe that doesn’t like contact or touching people

The tests have false positives, too. Were either of those people sick? My understanding is that trump is getting all the people in contact with him tested regularly, they wouldn’t have needed symptoms to be tested.
