I must be in the minority, I’ve never heard of him. I don’t care how noxious his views were, if he’s got small children then it’s a shame for them to likely lose a parent. As someone who has never picked up a gun, I’m amazed that a shot from 200 yards away is apparently fairly easy. That’s two football fields! The width of a neck from that far away is a very small angle and I can’t imagine holding a rifle that steady and that accurately.

It’s not easy. It requires training. They probably weren’t aiming for the neck, but a neck shot is sufficient.
Why? For Trump to blame Biden for something just requires Trump to say so. No proof required.
It is not easy. You have to be very good or very lucky to make that kind of shot from 200 yards. It suggests that the shooter spent significant time at a range. It’s not “one in a million” hard, but it takes practice.
Sight your gun in (even better if you’re using a scope), know the trigger pull, do it from support (prone would be good, something like bench would be even better) and adjust for windage if possible. I think it’s a combination of a shooter actually knowing what he’s doing for a change and a little luck to get that kind of hit. Or possibly he was trying to shoot center mass and yanked it up.
