*… I would consider his words to meet this criterion, even if the platforms doing the banning are private companies.

Oh, in real life, he absolutely would have been caught another way. From the texts, his dad was already suspicious and demanding to see a photo of the gun where it is supposed to be before they even released the shooter’s photo.
I’m more wondering about whether the government can search through all text messages in a given area for key words. It sounds like they can.
