Trump ally and conservative pundit Charlie Kirk shot at Utah event [now reported deceased, same date 10SEP2025]

That’s hillarious, coming from a pathetic incel like you.

Would St Charlie appreciate that quoting his exact words is discouraged for some reason?

“Black pilots? How does that work??”

I’m just gonna put out there— Don’t fall for the purge the GOP is trying to do to us reasonable and intelligent Americans: Have us turn on each other.

I’m not a mod, but please, not that.

On topic, where are these corporations actually finding out who hates and loves Chuckie-boy? I know, I know, Facebook and other public social media (like here, for example), easily traceable if they have your email address. But to what length? It’s checked daily on what employees post in their public forums? If I post a sick joke on Reddit, am I up for sexual harassment? Saying I’ve never wanted a pet on facebook makes me cruel? Or is it now just only anything against Kirklandy?

As noted, from Laura Loomer and her personal gang of brown-shirts that are scouring social media for anyone they can find.

Anything that isn’t fawning praise for the White (Power) Martin Luther King Jr.

It’s hard to keep this cast of Dick Tracy villains straight. Is Laura Loomer the one whose head is shaped like a butt-plug or is that Steven Miller…?

Traditionally, repressive governments don’t have the staff to oppress efficiently, so they rely on people informing on friends, relatives, and neighbours. This has the benefit of creating a climate where you don’t know who you can really trust, leading people to be much quieter with any opinion that might be dangerous.

The more you post on social media the more likely someone is to take offense. Which is why on social media accounts where I use my real name I am very, very, very boring. And really not very active at all. Why be on social media then? It can be viewed with suspicion if you aren’t on social media at all. Unless you’re Amish, which I am not.

My employer basically has the rule that they don’t care as long as whatever you say can’t link them to something bad or embarrassing. Which is why I don’t mention them at all in those other accounts and only bitch about the corporation flaws and stupidities here, where I’m more or less anonymous. Whether or not I like the rules those are the rules and I try to find a way to live with them so I remain able to pay my bills and buy food. Also why I have not commented at all on social media about recent events under my legal name.

A lot of people haven’t figured that out yet.

I’m the same with work. Still looking for fulltime, but I never put a LinkedIn post saying, “I’m so happy to be working for such-and-such” and never in FB or on here. Haven’t used FB much. Mainly for menus.

But there are plenty of Pam Bondi tweets that call for violence, way back to Sarah Palin of the recent years. I’d hope a class action suit would be easy for people to sue against a firing directed by this admin. Though I don’t believe that’d be possible nowadays in general.

I wonder. Do people like Clay realize that they are being incredibly hypocritical and just don’t care because that’s how you win, or do they lack to introspection to actually realize their hypocrisy.

I have said for years that the Right and the Left are totally different in what they consider to be their cardinal sins. On the Left, it’s hypocrisy; people are regularly crucified for being caught doing something contrary to what they claim. On the Right, by contrast, the cardinal sin is weakness.

The Left tries to attack people on the Right for their hypocrisies, and they get zero traction, because what the Left regards as a major transgression is ignored and dismissed on the Right.

Some from column A, some from column B, and quite a few some of both. But as @Cervaise said, on the Right the sin isn’t hypocrisy, it’s weakness. Winning above all, no matter what you have to do to get there. Rules for thee but not for me. And so on.

Yes. Moreover, while the Left totally fails to understand this about the Right, and continues pointlessly pressing their futile offensives, the Right, conversely, thoroughly understands the Left’s mindset, and proceeds accordingly. Witness, for example, their successful elimination of Senator Al Franken. Whether you think his forced resignation was justified or unjustified, whether you believe his transgressions were genuinely awful or overblown, what’s important is that the Republicans gleefully attacked him in terms that were consciously designed to undermine his support and resonate with the Left. On the flip side, witness also how much the Right freaked out when Tim Walz was attacking them as “losers and weirdos” (and how fast things calmed down when Dem consultants persuaded Walz to retreat to more conventional politicking). The Dems simply do not grasp the fundamental nature of the Right, and are doomed to play as underdogs until that changes, if it ever does.

Never confuse democrats or liberals with “the left.”

Hard to do with some folks on the right.

Saw one on my social media (friend of a friend) say he starting really listening to Bernie Sanders after he left the far-left Democratic Party. I didn’t even know where to start with that level of total derpitude

I can’t help but think of Marjorie Taylor Green calling for “decorum” in the House of Representatives and both parties on the floor responding with laughter. I’m in the same boat as you, but these days I’m leaning towards a genuine lack of introspection on their part for a great many of them. These are people who have been lied to for years and it doesn’t seem to bother them.

Much of that is driven by their voters, too.

They can and often do detect the obvious phonies. Witness DeSantis’ poor attempt at making a presidential run. Or Ted Cruz. Or a number of others. They tried to playact the Trump playbook and failed abjectly. It’s hard to fake that weird combination of sincerity, ignorance, arrogance, and bigotry.

I mean, they still win their elections at the local and state levels but increasingly many of the old guard lost and are losing primaries to the genuinely sincere, ignorant bigots rather than the opportunists pretending at it.

You’ve explained this better than most anyone else I’ve seen online. And, I think this is why Gavin Newsom’s trolling is one of the few tactics from the left that seems to have genuinely rattled Trump and his circle, even if only a little bit. Newsom’s not trying to dissect Trump’s policies, he’s not pointing out what a raging hypocrite he is, he’s not talking about the cruelties of his administration (which Trump’s supporters believe make him look tough, anyway). He’s just making clear for all to see that Trump is a buffoon of the highest order, which is something that really gets under his skin.

Which is why it was so refreshing to see Gavin Newsom go after DJT by parodying and mocking his midnight toilet tweets.
