Trump associates may have coordinated with Russians, according to US officials

Because you seem to believe that everything that’s said by Trump is an accurate representation of what happened. Past history indicates that’s not the case. If I have to take the word of one person vs another, I’m probably not going to believe the person who has a long history of blatant falsehoods. Character counts for a lot.

I’m an EMT. I’m on a scene, and two conflicting stories are presented by a police officer and someone else. I’m going to believe the police officer initially. That may change as I learn more about the situation, but my initial reaction is to believe the cop.

I don’t think that Comey has not accepted being fired. I’m pretty sure he has. He’s not still showing up at the office trying to log in to his computer.

In the case of Comey’s telling Trump that Trump is not under investigation - whose word are you taking over whose? Or, to put it another way - how do the two versions (Trump’s and Comey’s) differ?

It’s more nuanced than that. Trump says he’s not being investigated. However, he’s only not under investigation…yet. Trmp can factually say that Comey said that to him on three occasions. Comey refuses to indulge Trump in his request, however, because he may be aware that the natural course of the investigation will soon include Trump.

I’m inclined to believe Comey’s word over Trump’s. Not because I hate Trump (well, not only because I hate Trump), but because Trump is just kind of a passing acquaintance with truth; they don’t see much of each other. Trump has a well-established proclivity to lie about even the most trivial of things, and they’e easily fact-checked. But his supporters don’t seem to care that we have volumes of easily debunked claims he’s made, because, dammit, he’s telling the truth this time. Lucy’s not going to pull the football away this. I don’t understand why Trump supporters (I mean this in a general sense, not you specifically) think that the man shits diamonds out of a platinum asshole.

Given the exhaustive lists of lies that Trump has told or repeated, why should anyone believe him on this? Or on anything?

I can say however many times you want that the Detroit Lions have not lost a game this year. Whether I can say that in October is uncertain. Comey may well have told Oranganus that he is not under investigation and it was probably true at the time. Those times have changed. For Dumb Donald to insist that Comey attest to his innocence publicly would be as dumb as my swearing that the Lions will finish 16-0.

In other great news, the pee-pee tape may well be real. Looks like the Russians have blackmail material which they fully intend to use to keep their puppet dancing to their tune.

This racist piece of shit hates Obama so much that he hired girls to pee where he slept. Sad.

Merely planning some investments on agricultural futures. Current indications suggest that next year’s grape harvest will be very sour.

Trump is very helpful in this regard, given that he often takes multiple - sometimes completely contradictory - positions on various things. Then his supporters can later point to the one that best supports their current position and pretend that the other ones weren’t important or didn’t count or simply didn’t happen.

I’m not at all surprised to see you advocating this approach. But do feel free to dismiss this as I am clearly - what’s the term you’ve used repeatedly in this thread? Oh yes - a “Trump-hater”.

If that tape is real, Trump’s only real hope is that he is dead before it is released. Because it will be released.

If the only people that have it are Russian intelligence, I wouldn’t bet on it.

Does it even matter if the tape is released at this point? Assuming it’s just prostitutes of a legal age urinating on the mattress, I don’t see how it hurts him very much. Anyone who supports him won’t care, and would likely cheer him for sticking it to Obama.

… just ask the KGB.

Naw, it’ll be released. Might be 50 years (or, more likely, when Putin dies), but it will get out.

Ah those desperate hopes. Pathetic.

Yes, aren’t they though?

A few months ago, the hope that a Republican President, Senate, and House, that had campaigned for years on killing the ACA, would be so incompetent that they couldn’t get it done, might have seemed desperate… but it turns out to be what took place. Hoping for things to happen that would be good for America in the long run (even while people disagree on what those things are) is fine, and not pathetic in any way.

No hope, merely a qualifed statement. Can you not tell the difference?

Apparently, Russian politicians agree, for what it’s worth:
*
"A Russian politician has threatened to “hit Donald Trump with our Kompromat” on state TV.

Speaking on Russia-24, Nikita Isaev, leader of the far-right New Russia Movement, said the compromising material should be released in retaliation over the closure of several Russian diplomatic compounds across the US.

When asked whether Russia has such material, Mr Isaev, who is also director of the Russian Institute of Contemporary Economics, replied: “Of course we have it!”"*

I have no idea of the credibility of this particular politician, so it’s very possible that this is BS. But, it’s interesting nonetheless.

Last desperate hope of Trump-haters… Kinda hilarious because of all your huffing and puffing about Russia interfering in US elections, and your last desperate hope is that Russia interferes somehow once again.

Do you promise to stick around on this board if Mueller does find something that leads to Trump’s impeachment or resignation?

I have two bets going on that currently with posters on this board. Would you like to make one too?

How is this a “last desperate hope?” You do realize that all the investigations into Russian ties with Trump are still ongoing, right? How, in your mind, is this the “Trump-haters’” last hope? Are is it just you building up a (pathetic) little strawman?

Jesus Marimba, Oke! The guy already stated reservations about the source, and you jump in and claim he is totally “desperate” to believe it? C’mon, play hard, but play fair!

Or at least submit your Certificate of Infallible Telepathy for our inspection.

You realize that getting rid of Trump is the goal here, right? “Malice, tempered by incompetence” is not something we can all get behind. I can’t speak for everyone one, but for me, yes, I’m desperate to get rid of this man.
