It’s still Biden’s fault for NOT disregarding the overwhelming support of the House & Senate on this bill.
Sheesh. Trying to put this on Biden is a HUUUGE stretch. What about the 475 other Congress members that voted for it?

It’s not really about putting it on Biden so much as deflecting from what Trump is saying and doing to punish minorities. I can only assume they are going to the trouble because they sympathize with his position.
I had to go to whitehouse-dot-gov to make sure this was not parody. It isn’t.
I told my wife (former U.S. Army Black Hawk pilot and combat veteran, BTW) that obviously only White men are competent to perform jobs such as Air Traffic Control, because people of colour and women are incompetent. She said, ‘Oh, sheesh.’ [NB: She used to become exasperated with me because I’m political, and said she’d always been a Republican. She isn’t now.] She asked me not to tell her any more. I said that I wouldn’t, other than to tell her I had to go to the White House website to make sure it wasn’t a joke. She said, ‘It is a joke.’ (Meaning Trump is a joke. A sad, sad joke.)
I’m also waiting for @Shayna to come back and explain that the bill that nearly all of Congress approved is “directly” responsible for this accident. I think it’s hard to say at this point what actually caused the accident. At this point, it’s looking like a military helicopter was at the wrong altitude. Which, isn’t part of that bill.
Speaking as a pilot (a helicopter pilot, even), accidents happen. Without any more information that what’s been made public, it appears to me that the helicopter pilot put his aircraft into the path of a jet that was on short final – after he had been instructed to pass behind the fixed-wind, and after he said he had the traffic in sight.
So I wonder if an ATC would have been able to see this, or if it all happened too fast to stop them, or what?
I sure hope they don’t release the name of the ATC, who’s already been verbally hung out to dry by no less than the PotUS (and all his sycophants).
I can’t quite interpret what you are saying. Are you saying you also agree it was the helicopter at fault? Or, do you think the bill that was passed was part of the problem?
Without any further information than what we have, it appears to me that the helicopter pilot screwed the pooch.
So, the bill that passed that increased jet travel was not the culprit? I’m still waiting for @shayna to come back…
Someone I’m acquainted with on Facebook speculated that the helicopter pilot deliberately steered into the plane.
Yeh, I know. But if it turns out that the chopper pilot was black or – even worse – Muslim, what odds that becomes the official MAGA theory?
Dumb it down for me, man.
They may have. Dopers are much too smart for that though
I did see AOC blamed Trump and Elon. That’s disappointing.
Looks like you might wait a while.
Really, I’d be happy to blame the orange one, but there just isn’t enough evidence to really know what happened. twump was asked how he knew it was DEI at fault; he replied he knew 'cause he has “common sense.”
Yeah, let the correct authority decide (with that woke evidence and junk) what happened and who is to blame. The families and friends deserve no less. They should not have their deceased loved ones used as political pawns. It’s disgusting and amounts to scavenging on a corpse. At least vultures etc. serve a noble purpose … twump on the other hand? Eh
Seems a bit on-the-nose that Trump appointed the first straight white non-Hispanic male Secretary of Transportation in over 30 years…and an airplane crashed into the Potomac on his first day.
My first thought was: “So, Trump and all his appointees will be resigning, then?”
Is this the flight he lied about, putting the wrong Black man in the story?
Just like common sense told him he’d won in 2020.
FWIW, Reagan handles over 800 flights per day. The 2024 FAA bill added 10 flights per day. Blaming that bill rather than the absurd location of the airport is ludicrous
Controllers don’t fly aircraft, pilots fly aircraft. Even when under the direction of ATC pilots are still responsible for avoiding collisions whenever they possibly can. Including refusing to follow and ATC directive that would result in a collision (although you may later be asked to explain your actions).
A controller may be a contributor to an accident but he/she is never the only person involved.
