Yeah, I would certainly hope so. Even outdoor weddings I go to often have drone videography (for cinematic, not security reasons, of course.)
It might be easier to forbid all drones rather than trying to distinguish between official and unofficial.
True, but a typical water tower (as this one appears to be) is about 120 feet tall, and generally accessible only by a ladder. Long way to climb, especially if carrying a weapon and/or surveillance equipment. Plus, the ladder doesn’t go all the way to the ground, which would necessitate another ladder just to reach the first rung.

You just have to watch a couple videos of murder robots in Ukraine to realize you want to either have infallible control of everything in the air or have nothing in the air. I don’t know what the anti-drone capabilities of the SS are but I’m assuming it’s extensive.
At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if we find out that one of the SS agents was actually holding the ladder steady for him as he climbed up on the roof.
Speaking of the ladder, has it been determined how it got it to the site? I saw that they traced his purchase of the ladder to a Home Depot the day before, but I haven’t heard mention of how he got it onsite.
Has anybody reported how close his car was parked to that building?

I think I was citing the earliest ones that came out just hours after the shooting. It may have been corrected, if it was indeed a bullet and not glass.

You can zoom out to get a bigger view but the 3 buildings on the right are the ones behind the bleachers. There would have been snipers on the left and right building. To the left is the building roof the shooter was on…
Here’s a view of the building he was on. The grandstand would be to the right if you zoom out. If he parked his car in the parking lot next to the building there are evergreens blocking the view of the gap between buildings. If that is his entry point then it was hidden from view. He could have staged the ladder the day before and nobody would have noticed it. There is no ladder on the side where people are pointing at the shooter so the parking lot side is the likely location.
This is conjecture at this point but the videos show an officer walking away from the people pointing up.
Also, the news said the police were first suspicious of the gunman when he was walking back and forth in front of the metal detector. That was 30 minutes before shots were fired.

I live in the local Butler, PA area and someone called me a few minutes after it happened. For a few minutes there was no reporting at all on the internet.
I was scanning he internet while I was on the phone and it took several minutes for the reporting to start.
I am not blind. In the rural area I live this kind of news spreads faster than the internet.
