He’d be less dangerous if he were actually an idiot.

I’m not surprised that this board conveniently ignores the boorish behavior of Democratic presidents.
Women were for sex and servitude. His shy, unglamorous wife, Lady Bird, was more of a maid than a mate, serving him breakfast in bed every morning and entertaining his cronies with huge meals prepared at short notice. At dinner parties he would say, “Bird, get me another piece of pie!”, and if she hesitated more than a few seconds, he would repeat his demand in a deafening roar.
At his Senate office, his female workers were fondled, ogled and overworked. Though his own figure was flabby, he was quick to berate any of his “girls” who put on weight. He wanted to make sure the view was good when they walked away from his desk. “I don’t want to look at an Aunt Minnie. I want to look at a good, trim back end.”
When Johnson became President, he continued to cheat on his wife, even in the White House. Once, after Lady Bird walked in on her husband having sex with one of his secretaries on a sofa in the Oval Office, an angry Johnson ordered the Secret Service to install a buzzer system to alert the President whenever his wife was close by.
In public Johnson often treated her as if she were invisible. Sometimes he would tell negative stories about her—about how she kept house or how she pinched pennies—in front of her in a group. “I thought if we went to a party, Lyndon would be with me the whole evening. He wasn’t. At first I was incensed. I was left alone with a bunch of strangers,” she recalled. Instead of showing her anger, Lady Bird realized that either she would have to work hard to win over Johnson’s friends, to become part of the circle, or she would have to reconcile herself to staying on the fringe.
At one point when LBJ was in the Senate, Busby remembers an afternoon when he, Lady Bird, a female friend, and several male staff members went for a ride around the ranch. Busby and the staff members were in the back seat of Johnson’s Lincoln, while Johnson was at the wheel, the female friend was seated in the middle, and Lady Bird occupied the passenger seat. “Johnson made a point of placing one of his hands under the woman’s skirt and was having a big time, right there in front of Lady Bird,” recalled Busby, who added that the woman slapped his hand, though Lady Bird never said a word.
No one denies that there was love at the center of Lady Bird Johnson’s marriage to LBJ. But like Hillary Clinton, she endured quite a bit, spousally speaking, as her husband’s star was on the rise.

It wasn’t the subject of the thread. Try to keep up.
I didn’t realize that Bill Clinton was a Republican. That’s a black mark we can chalk up on your side.
Sad.
Had to go all the way back to the early 60s to find an example.
Sad.
Given that Lyndon Johnson has been out of office for 48 years (and dead for 44 of those years) is there some reason people SHOULD be paying attention to his boorish behavior? I don’t know about you, but I don’t spend a whole lot of time and energy getting outraged at the antics of politicians who died before I was born.

Well, Flyer , you’ve convinced me, at least. I’m never voting for Lyndon Johnson again!

Why are you so desperate to deflect attention from Trump’s behavior?

LBJ was grabbing women by the pussy before it was cool.
That’s what made him such a progressive.

Well there are pictures of Uncle Joe being creepy but that’s Joe being Joe.
In the annals of “bad shit Trump’s done in the 8.75 days he’s been President,” this rates about a 0.6 on a 0 to 10 scale.
