Trump Compared to Jesus Christ

This is a text (grammatical errors included) that a Trumper I know posted in a Trump-friendly group (social, not political) that I’m in:

“Its unbelievable the hatred towards a man that sold his wealth for his Country and then another, sells his country for his Wealth!!! Does the words “Crucify Him” Ring a bell?”

I responded with a rather long take down of his post but holy shit! Just how stupid can some people be? Of course, there was no reply from him.

Trump’s Violations of the Emoluments Clauses

Do these people EVER pay attention to what the mother fooker actually DOES?!?

With any luck, eventually he’ll get nailed.

“To our community, Andrew Wakefield is Nelson Mandela and Jesus Christ rolled up into one.”

  • J.B. Handley, describing the disgraced researcher and lead author of a fraudulent study which sparked a revival of the antivax movement.

Jesus Trump and Biden are currently in a dead heat in the polls for '24.

That train left the station long ago.

When people talk about a MAGA cult, that’s not a metaphor. Many literally believe he is ordained by God and is a holy leader.

He’s not the Messiah, he’s a very naughty boy!

I am close friends with a Presbyterian minister. He strongly dislikes Trump and has lost some funding because of it, but he views Trump, accurately, as wholly unlike Christ and anathema to the way a devoted Christian would live.

One thing that keeps coming up for him and other ministers is that they do a sermon reading from the Bible, say about turning the other cheek, and people come up to them and say, “Why are you preaching all this woke shit?”

And they say, “These are the literal words of Jesus Christ” and the response is not, “Oh. I’d better re-examine my life.” The answer is, “That doesn’t work anymore. That’s not what we’re doing now.”

Maybe they want to reimagine their religion, kinda like how the DC Universe reboots. The same characters, but now 50% grittier.

It’s spelled “griftier.”

I don’t know about all the comparisons between Jesus Christ and Trump, but they should crucify him at least (or roast him on a spit) for all I care.

Trump is fatter and thus heavier. Flabbier too, and lacks consistency. I do not think you could nail him to a cross.
Perhaps if you froze him solid beforehand… but then he would shatter.

Only 215. Just might need more nails is all.

Even if you buy the idea that Trump somehow “sold his wealth for his country” (even by his own account? has he ever admitted to not being incredibly wealthy?), in what way is this like Jesus? Oh yeah you know Jesus, you know how it says in the gospels, that super wealthy aristocrat who gave away all his wealth so that Judea could be great again.

I just noticed how funny the idea of selling one’s own wealth away is. What do you sell wealth for, what is the currency? Money? You trade wealth for wealth. Power? You trade wealth for the way to make more wealth. I think the right thing to do for a Jesus worth his salt would be to give his wealth away, not sell it. But what do I know, I am just an atheist.

MJGA is pronounced like meshugga, right?

I think Trump’s self-reported weight was a misspelling of “315”. Just an honest typo from an honest man.

Russel Moore, theologican, ethicist, and preacher was an official in the Southern Baptist Convention who started taking a lot of fire from his peers for his criticisms of Trump. According to this NPR article, he belives Christianity is in crisus because:

I only know a handful fo Evangelicals myself, and two of them voted for Hillary in 2016 because they couldn’t stomach Trump, but the one I’m in contact with on occasion is a big Trump supporter. I asked him straight up how he could look at Trump and say, “This is a man who represents my values.” His reply was that Trump’s character didn’t matter, that he wasn’t necessarily voting for someone who held his values, but that he was only concerned with what he would do in office. i.e. His answer was full of crap.

I will be honest with you, back in 2016 I was genuinely surprised by the support Trump got from Evangelical Christians. While I don’t agree with their politics, I could at least respect that they had principles they adhered to, but now I know they don’t really have any.

I don’t find it hard to understand at all.
Trump is a tool, a weapon.
Nobody wants a sword with a conscience or a gun with a moral code.

And I guess the irony here is that leaders of the Southern Baptist Convention had no idea that their congregation would worship Trump instead of Christ. i.e. They didn’t expect the leapard to eat their faces.

Trump said once, JUST ONCE, that he was opposed to abortion. That’s all a lot of them really need. Nothing else matters in their worlds.
